Yesterday, after a big walk at the river, we came home
to no electricity.
(The electricity company had sent a letter saying the power would be off from 9 to 4)
SHE went out for a day at the zoo,
and we were left at home.
SHE saw:
And we stayed at home all alone.
sleeping hippo |
And we waited.....
Two playful elephants having pushing contests.
The critically endangered Eastern Bongo
We slept.
Mother and baby otters looking for snacks.
And we waited....
SHE saw lots of other things,
Siamang Apes, Gibbons,
Wild African Dogs, Przewalski's horses,
Galapagos Tortoises, Eland, Persian onagers, barbary sheep,
camels, assorted Australian Animals and
then stopped to get some Chinese food for lunch.
While we waited....
FINALLY SHE came home and we expected an
afternoon walk; but SHE wanted to rest and went to sleep!
FINALLY SHE came home and we expected an
afternoon walk; but SHE wanted to rest and went to sleep!
UNTIL the power came back on.
(We did have some of the rice with our dinner.)
it seems your mom was powerless too as she came home ;O)))
ReplyDeleteThat's a long time for the power to be out. At least SHE made the best of it. We love all of the animal pictures!
ReplyDeleteIf she wanted to see wild dogs, she could have come here.
ReplyDeleteHow rude! When our peeps went to visit friends last month, they put us all in the garage for hours. They said if someone had an accident they didn't want it on the carpet. Well, nobody had an accident and they heard about it. We think it's animal abuse even if we did have pillows and blankets and snacks.
ReplyDeletePower in one way or another controls us.

This is an outrage and rice is totally insufficient compensation.
ReplyDeleteDemand to be taken to the zoo next time.
Toodle pip!
Bertie.
WHAT............SHE left you alone all day w/o power and then SHE thought rice would suffice? So Not fair.!!!

OMD...she left you ALL DAY?!! We think you need some extra chicken with your rice!
ReplyDeletexoxo,
Rosy, Jakey & Arty
Poor pups:( But we bet that rice was tasty. That bongo is one interesting creature that we have never seen before.

We can't believe SHE left you all alone to go visit other animals.
ReplyDeleteThat is mistreatment . . . Spending time with other animals and letting you suffer at home in the dark. She owes you!
ReplyDeleteStaying home was probably for the best. It takes weeks to get the hippo smell out of your hair.
ReplyDeletethis might warrant abuse, do you need and attorney? at least the compensation was rice. yum.. and the big plus is I got to see all she saw. I do love any thing at all with 4 legs... so glad she came home and rescued you.
ReplyDeleteNo fortune cookies with that rice? What was with that? :-)!!
