SUNday......pffft!

 Guess what!  It's SUNday and the sun forgot to come up this morning.  Well, maybe it did come up; but we couldn't see it through the clouds.  Some SUNday.....

We did manage to get in the early morning walk before it started to rain.....again.

 I'm just going to lie here and think about yesterday.  It was a real SUNday.  Just beautiful.

We had a fantastic time with our friends at the river.

Wordless Wednesday--Crazy Shadow

Comparisons

 We found a chart of made up facts about Labrador Retrievers.

 And we've been comparing ourselves to Labs.

We  have the same ears, stomachs and definitely the feet.

Roxy can add the tongue and fur to her list.

How do you stack up against a Labrador?

It's Saturday....Yay!!!

  No 6 a.m. walk.  Instead, we pile into the car at 8 and head out of town to the river.

You can't see Bella because she always rides on the floor.  She doesn't like the car much.

We arrived first.  

 Bella and Roxy got in some war games.

 Bella went swimming while Roxy and I nosed around.

 Bella knew there would be a bath when we got home, so she got as muddy as possible.

 Finally..........our friends arrived.  

 Who is it, Roxy?

 Flash and Buddy......then Fred.....and finally, very late Jake and Max!

Roxy LOVES Jake.

They race up and down the river like mad things.

 When Jake tires of Roxy, he goes into the river where Roxy's short legs can't reach him.

There is a stand off.  Then Jake shoots off again and Roxy, hindered by the short legs, goes after him.

They play like that for over an hour.

Two hours later,  it was home for baths, a sleep......
 and bones in the evening.
Then we had a huge thunderstorm with driving rain.
So we plastered ourselves cuddled close to HER so SHE wouldn't be afraid.
We love Saturdays.
Note: for our eagle-eyed followers, Bella did get in the mud after our friends arrived.

Happy Valentine's Day EVERYONE!!!

Two messages from.....

ROXY

Firstly, Roxy would like you to know that she is confined,  sleeps in her own private bedroom and therefore, was NOT the dog who left poo on the carpet (see yesterday's post).

Also, she does not have a beard that gets wet when she drinks and drips water over the floor.

As to the other incidents attributed to Somedoggie, she is keeping mum!

She just wants that cleared up.

The second message is very exciting.  We received an e-mail this morning from Lee, Roxy's foster mum.

The fantastic news is that Roxy's sister, Roo is leaving for Sydney to meet a young family who saw her on petrescue!!!

We are so excited that she'll be getting her own family.  Though we're sure she'll be the perfect addition to any family, we still have our paws crossed that the trial period goes well!

FOUR Dogs

 Did you know that there are actually FOUR dogs living at our house?

You know me--Daisy.

 You know Bella.

 And you know Roxy.

 But we'd like to introduce our FOURTH dog--Somedoggie.

 We can never get a photo of Somedoggie. She is elusive--that's why we had to draw a picture.  We never see her; but her presence is felt through  her naughtiness!

For instance, last night Somedoggie left poo on the carpet.  

Somedoggie has been digging in the vegetable containers.

Somedoggie dribbled water all over the kitchen floor when getting a drink and  left muddy footprints.

Somedoggie has brought a dead bird into the house--TWICE.

So we know about Somedoggie, but we can never catch her.

And it's funny that she never shows up when all three of us are together.

Blogger's crazy again

Blogger is acting up again this morning.  We keep getting the word verification 'smenita' on several blogs and when we type it in, it says our word doesn't match theirs!!! 

So Lucy, we think you investigating that cherry tomato is so cute.


Winnie, keep warm.  We love that midnight igloo.

We'll try again when SHE comes home from work.  Maybe someone should invent a 'squirrel wall' like a firewall for our computers....just an idea.

No Walk Nearly Wordless Wednesday

Hail

BAH!!!!

We're BACK!!!

 And we didn't even know we went anywhere!!!

When we got up this morning, blogger said our blog was deleted...by owner.  That was a surprise to us.  It was fine last night.

We followed all the helpful (not) blogger advice, and went for our walk.  Upon our return, we tried again.  By then several friends e-mailed to ask what happened.  Thanks everyone.

Once again, we jumped through the hoops and then the blog magically appeared.  Can't figure out that one!

 Anyway, we seem to be back and firing on all pistons.

 We've had THREE beautiful days.  Sunny and warm, mid 80s, we immediately thought of long walks.  SHE thought laundry!  Now, what's up with that?

 So we spent most of yesterday lounging outside, keeping the birds away. (Actually, Roxy caught one on our walk last night!)

 Roxy and Bella have been working on their hole which is looking more like a canal or a river.

(They didn't use the garden fork, it's just to show scale.)

Bella watched some television.  First, a 1953 movie set in Scotland.

 And finished up with an episode of 'Hamish MacBeth'.

A very peaceful few days.

Then the blogger incident this morning.

Now the forecast is for rain for the rest of the week, but maybe we'll only get clouds.

We're glad to be back.

Happy Bathday!

 Yes, you read that correctly.....Happy Bathday!

Please ignore the horribly spotted window caused by dogs shaking after baths.

Not that we like baths, but we love Saturdays and that's when we have baths.  Today was no exception.

It stopped raining yesterday about mid-day.

So this morning we went to the Devil's Elbow even though SHE knew it would be muddy.

All of our friends were there.

These are old pictures because SHE didn't take the camera today.

We really enjoyed the mud today.  We wallowed, swam and raced through the mud flats and puddles. Roxy rolled on dead frogs and other smelly stuff.

We jumped on all the peeps, shaking dirty water and mud on them.

It was a fabulous morning.

When we got home, Bella and I just went straight into the laundry room.  We knew it was bath day.

But Roxy jumped back into the car and tried to hide.

Didn't work.

Then everyone and everything had baths:  us, HER, HER clothes, our car blanket.....the car interior.

Can't wait for next Saturday.

The baths are worth it!

(And Jed and Abby you're right, SHE's the one with walking-in-the-rain issues.)
