No Mischief Monday

No mischief because we (Roxy and Dui) had on our walking strings at the beginning of our walk.

We are sort of spoiled with all the greenery next to the river.

Even Bella managed to stay up with us...she's usually way behind.

We walked down to a new place by the river.

We're above the weir here, so the river looks very good and full.

We found a very twisty tree.

After we got past the cattle, Dui was allowed to run free all the way back to our car.
And yes, we got good dog treats.

Weekly Update

We've had misty mornings at the river.

This looks like a wave.....it's not.

Lying in the sun.

Playing with friends.
Feeding the magpies.

And barking at CATS!  Just a normal week.

Calling Mother Nature...

come in Mother Nature.

Please send us some rain--not floods,
just some gentle, soaking rain.

On take-off from the Airport today.

We live about  1 mile to the east of this.

Frosty Friday

Another frosty morning....
Dui is the black blob on the left.

But the pelicans don't seem to mind the cold water.

Have a fabulous weekend everyone!

Tuesday Excitement

This morning we were at the river, as usual.
SHE didn't want to go near the water
to try to keep us clean.
BUT...
There was a bird flapping around near the big log.
Demi and Kenzie went to investigate, but didn't bother it.
SHE realised it couldn't fly and waded out to see the problem.
It was actually two Corellas, their legs entwined, stuck to the log with fishing line.
Luckily, Ron had a knife and SHE cut them free.
One fell into the river, and SHE had to get a stick under it.
It just sat for awhile but wouldn't leave its mate--
The more injured, who hid inside the log.
(No photo was taken so as not to distress it further.)
Wildlife Rescue (WIRES) was called
and a lady arrived

to take both birds to the zoo hospital.

This is the bird you saw,  in the bag.
The birds weren't very appreciative of HER efforts.
A few painful pecks and talon grabs...

were worth helping them though.
We hope they make it.

Stinkin' Saturday....

A dog, who shall remain nameless,
rolled in something absolutely disgusting

and got a cold bath.

Where's Dui.

Another foggy morning.  This one had frost as well.
Roxy and Dui suddenly took off racing down the track and over the edge towards the river.

They raced back and forth, crashing through the underbrush.
Suddenly a 'roo bounded up the slope,
over the paddock fence and into the distance.
(Sorry no photo it took HER by surprise.)

Now where did that pesky 'roo go?

Roxy is looking in the right direction, but it is long gone.
If you look VERY closely, you can see the 'sun' trying
hard to burn off the fog.

it succeeded--we had a beautiful day!
(the puddles are from a bit of rain we had the other day.)
Do you think we look like real scottish dogs?

Wonky foot Wednesday

I still have my wonky foot.

It doesn't slow me down at all.
