Tasty Tuesday....Goat Horns
Some of you asked about our Goat Horn treats.
They are delicious!
They seem softer than antlers because we
completely demolished one in two days.
This is all that's left of the second one.
Our deer antlers, that we've been chewing on for a year or so, just have tooth marks.
No problems with digestion.....etc.
Not much smell, so we could eat inside.....
We think they're a great treat!

Mischief on Monday...
Look! Something's sleeping on OUR beach...
It's a pelican!
We have to do something about that.
And don't try that again, Mr Pelican!
Who knew Pelicans could be so mischievous!

More Fog...
Another foggy morning....(It's about 7:45).
The track along the river is closed to traffic, but we can still go in for a walk.
Yes, Bella is with us....though usually way behind.
The river has vanished.
It should be just behind Roxy.
Even the ducks have taken to the high trees...
By the time we returned to the parking lot,
our friends had arrived.
Ralph came today, he's a Bull Mastiff, and is the youngest.
Auntie Sue brought some treats....as usual..
Ralph (back), Chloe, Roxy, Bella.....Pi, Buddy and Dui |
The sun burned off all that fog, so when we got home, we could do some serious snoozing in the sun.
Roxy, using the Nandina as a pillow. |
Dui enjoying the supposed-to-keep-the-dogs-off rocks. |
This is the Winter weather we expect.....not all that cold.

Finally.....
AGES ago, we won an Amazon Gift Card
from Zaphod and Hailey (thanks again, guys.)
AND SHE bought HERSELF some books....sheesh!
FINALLY, SHE bought us some treats to pay us back....
Our absolutely favourite fish treats....
And some Goat Horns!
We've had deer antlers....but never Goat Horns!
There were two in the packet....perfect.
Bella doesn't like chewing things you can't EAT!
Hmmmmmmmmm....
looks like we got a goat with two left horns......

River treat....
Dui's special river treat is Chloe's and Jake's peep's coffee cups.
He loves tearing them up!
Sometimes, I Roxy, have to take it away from him ....
to keep him from getting too over-excited.

We want to send out a huge HAPPY BIRTHDAY
to Sweet William's MOM!
We hope she has a wonderful day!

Annoying Little Brothers....
I, Roxy, love to stalk birds.
Can you see those ducks on the other side of the puddle?
I creep up slowly........slowly......
And then, Dui notices and charges off...no finesse....
I have to race him to be first.....
He is so annoying!
Must be a scottie thing because
sometimes Bella does the same thing and so
did Daisy.
Any wonder I can't catch birds?

Saturday morning....
...and all's right with the world!
Look who showed up today.
It has been teasing us all week, just
showing up for a moment then
disappearing again.
The river was still foggy at first,
but, by the time we'd walked back to
our friends....it was so warm.
SHE took off several layers.
Can you see us? (Don't look for Bella, she's behind HER.) |
The weather people said that the coldest week...(yes, Northern Hemisphere) WEEK is behind us and not expected again
for the rest of the winter.
This photo was taken a few days ago to the southeast of us.
Yesterday, the road to Sydney was closed.
Kangaroo in the vineyards.......BOL! |
AND SHE's made chicken gizzards in gravy
to go over our kibble.
Life is good!

Echidna
Just thought we'd answer a few comments from yesterday.
An Echidna is also known as a spiny anteater.
They are found all over Australia.
We occasionally see them where we live.
They are mainly solitary animals,
so that photo of two in the snow is unusual
probably a male and female.
They protect themselves by rolling into a ball
and digging a hole.
Echidnas are the oldest living mammal (quote from Internet).
And one the world's two monotremes--egg laying mammals.
(The other is the Platypus.)
The babies are called puggles.

Also, Australia has vast snowfields in the mountains, it's a popular ski area.
Some areas do get snow in winter, but usually we visit snow--it doesn't just fall on us.

Stormy Weather.....
We had a HUGE storm last night. Lots of Thunder, wind, rain
and even hail.
We went out and barked at the thunder, but we (Roxy) didn't like the hail.
Today has been VERY cold and blustery.
We've stayed inside--after our morning walk.
We've stayed inside--after our morning walk.
SHE forgot to buy our bedtime cookies AGAIN,
and didn't want to go back out, so as
(bouncing) Bertie says SHE did
some Bad Weather Baking.
They are Peanut Butter Puppy Poppers from Bullwrinkle.com
2 cups whole-wheat flour
(We used plain, white flour)
1tbsp. baking powder
1 cup peanut butter
1 cup milk
Preheat oven to 375°F/190°C
In a bowl, combine flour and baking powder.
In another, mix PB and milk (we melted the PB) then
add to dry ingredients and mix well...place dough on
lightly floured surface and knead, roll out to 1/4-inch
thickness and cut out shapes. Bake for about 20 min.
cool on rack, store in an airtight container.
We love these and SHE says they're dead easy to make.

Wednesday...
Yesterday, Tuesday, my wonky foot was sore.
I limped around all day and had to rest it!
But not today.......
Run! Run! As fast as you can......
You can't catch me....pesky Dui-man!
Tasty Tuesday...
Last night, we ate our last bedtime snack.
Early this morning--SHE said it was too cold (-2.5°C) for a walk and Roxy's wonky foot was too sore--SHE baked us some peanut butter treats.
SHE was too lazy to roll them out and make bone shaped, but we like any shape.
They're in the treat jar that Ernie sent Roxy.
We had a taste test.
Dui was too fast.
We came back just to see if there were any more.
There weren't, but we'll have some at bedtime tonight.

Dirt....
This morning's sweepings.....
Yeah? Like your big people feet didn't contribute to this.....
Anyway, it's mostly those hairy scottie feet that bring in the dirt.
I just provide the white hairs.
