Poor, pathetic....

..........Bella.

This morning, she raced ahead, and down to the river.

After a while, when it was obvious no one was coming,

she came up near the trees, where we were,

and sat in a puddle--waiting.

Note:  We did go down later to throw rocks for her.

Also, we've tried balls and sticks, but she just likes rocks.

Friday Funny...

Because we LOVE cheese--among many other things--

We'd never diss a brie....or cheddar...or

Any other cheese!

(Sorry for the earworm.)

Poor Bella.

That's what the peeps at the river call Bella.

When we go to The Devil's Hole, we don't always go down the hill to the river.  Sometimes we stay up near the driving track

 under the trees.

We are usually early, so we walk around the track.

Bella always races ahead and goes into the river.

And there she stays....sometimes for over an hour.

Always, hoping someone will throw rocks to her.

She will not give up until everyone is gone.

Occasionally, someone feels sorry for her and throws a couple of rocks.  The idea is to throw them near enough for her to jump after them but not CATCH them.  She broke a tooth last year.

Ever the optimist she waits, even when trembling with cold.

As soon as she gets home, she goes straight into the laundry room for her dunk, or bath in the tub.

Poor Bella.

Wordless Wednesday--Bella

Weather...

Yesterday afternoon, we had a HUGE storm--thunder, lightning, wind and buckets of rain.

Our back room flooded.

 The front yard looked like a rice paddy.

 This morning, there were a few puddles, but most of the water was gone.

 And it was sunny again.

We were enjoying the river

 when kayaks, canoes.

Dui telling these people off....loudly.

 And swimmers arrived. 

 We told them just whose beach it is,

 but they didn't listen!

They had a short break and then continued  their 74-km swim 

to the next town.

And we had the beach all to ourselves again! 

Oh, all you snow-covered Blogvillians, keep warm!

Mysterious noise...

This morning when doing our supposed-to-keep-the-couch-clean sheets, the washing machine started making a strange,

 clunking sound.

I got the blame.

 Guess who has

a 

very clean.......

ANTLER!

BOL! 

Yesterday we got two very clean poo bags. 

SHE needs to check her pockets.

Believe it or Not!

Apparently, some peeps don't like being awakened at 3 a.m. 

so pups can go out to play and sniff.

SHE's one of them.

Supplies and a surprise....

Yesterday morning we stopped by the Farmers' Market to load up on supplies.

There are 50 roo chews in that box.....see?

 This morning, at the river Harry's mother showed up with presents for all of us.

Harry comes with Pi, and he got lots of

Christmas presents from everyone, so

his mother made all of us treat bags

with home-baked goodies.

There are two black shadows under the table in case of droppages.

There are some Happy Dogs at our house!

We just wish SHE wasn't so stingy.

Unfortunately, little brother came racing through at this moment and chased the bird away!

sWeltering Wordless Wednesday...

Sunday...

You'll never guess who was at the river this morning!

 

It was Mr Roo.

We haven't seen him in ages.

This picture was taken before the chase.....

 Way over on the right is a Roo blurr.

SHE was yelling too much to get a good shot.

 We chased him into the sheep paddock.

(Luckily, no sheep.)

Next we walked around the track until

everyone arrived.

Then down to the river.

Even Dui has been getting into the water....

 Bella loves trying to catch rocks.  It's her favourite game.  She'll often stand in the water for over an hour waiting for someone to throw rocks for her.

She chipped a tooth last year, so rocks have to be thrown close

enough so she'll jump for them, but not close enough to be caught.

 Then we chased each other, wrestled and barked.

 Afterwards snack time, up under the trees.

Dui front and centre, he usually gets the dropped treats.

 The two hours goes quickly.  So until next weekend....

Rain

Today has been one of those 

every-time-you-want-to-go-out-it-starts-raining days.

Don't worry, we had HER up at 5:30 a.m.

for a walk.

SHE wore HER old, waterproof jacket.

Which turned out to be just an old jacket

when it started raining halfway through the walk.

Anyway, we've been doing a lot of this.

Dui

Roxy on the supposed to keep the doona cover clean blanket.  (She thinks she owns the bed!)

Not much happening our end.

But,

we wanted to share with you the wonderful

Christmas Pudding, our friend 

Pi (π)gave us.

Minced beef and cheese.

We loved it!
