Uh oh, Bella!

This morning was beautiful.  SHE decided to do a bit of weeding....there's grass growing everywhere except where it's supposed to grow.  SHE was surprised to find a buried stuffie and assumed it was the missing koala.  On closer inspection....
It proved to be a small, collectible teddy bear purchased in Hamleys Toy Shop in London for a fairly hefty price!  We don't know when Bella buried it; but it wasn't too dirty.

Further weeding uncovered Blue Bug who's been missing for months..
And finally, poor koala missing for about the same length of time.

Both stuffies have been through several heavy rains and frosts.

Bella would not even look at the camera.

Walking by the school

Bella finds something interesting.

A  C-A-T!

We see you there, cat!

Come back out here!
There have been a succession of feral cats living under one of the local schools.  That board across the gate is supposed to keep them out, but they've just pushed around it!  We always look for them, We're not allowed off our leads because I, Daisy, went under that fence one Easter Morning and SHE was frantic wondering who to call to open the gate.  Luckily, I came back out by myself.

Sometimes there are no cats and sometimes several.....we always look!  (Except for Kendra who doesn't seem to care if cats take over the world.)

Monster!

Saturday we went for our morning walk at the Devil's Elbow.
We went down a different track and found some great old trees to investigate.
Don't worry, Kendra is there.  She's just behind the photographer, as usual.
We were heading down to the river, when SUDDENLY I spied a MONSTER creeping out of the long grass!

I emitted my most ferocious growl....
I told it to stay right there......
Not to move......
And no one would get hurt!
Luckily, it listened.  It knew I meant business!
Daisy
Because if it had even twitched; it would've been history!

A Visit.....

Millie and Bella have a small 'who's the boss' moment.
To our friend Millie's.
Games are definitely more fun that arguing.
Millie was very excited to see us!

Daisy and Millie

Kendra, Millie and Bella yell at the dogs next door.

Returning the ball.

Everyone got in on the game.
Kendra was hopelessly outmatched by one year old Millie; but she got in a few good returns when the ball was thrown right to her.
We had a fantastic time.
When it was time to leave, we couldn't find Kendra.  We looked in all the usual places, no Kendra.
We finally found her inside--making sure Millie's dinner bowl was nice and clean.
We love visiting Millie.

Bella's obsession

Bella has become obsessed with the television.  If it's on, she's staring at it.   She watches everything, but appears to prefer programs with short bursts of action and anything with animals.  She will not move unless there is food on offer which she snatches and takes up her post again.  Luckily, our telly isn't on very much or she'll get square eyes.

Here she is combining two of her greatest interests:  chasing cyclists and watching television.
She's watching Le Tour de France!

Guess what........?

 A package arrived today.
 Addressed to US.....Look.
What do you think was in it?!
We had to ask for some help opening it.
 That's better.
 People Crackers!!!!
.......... and a great card from Mayor Frankie Furter
.....pawtographed by himself.
When we opened the packet, we were allowed to smell what was in it.

Kendra just grabbed the whole packet.....and wouldn't let go!  Finally, when it was wrested away from her, we got two each.  Policeman, Mailman, Milkman....they were all good.
 THANK YOU Frankie!

Kendra Update

Kendra has finished her initial 5-day course of Lysodren for her Canine Cushings.  Now she's on one tablet a week.  Then back for more blood tests.  There haven't been any great changes....yet.  Though yesterday we took her to the duck pond (her favourite) and she was quite puppy-ish, leading the pack.  She was so enthusiastic she fell in.  But that just made her more lively.

Last night, she wanted to play with her ball again.  First time in ages.  She chased it and jumped.  So maybe she's feeling better.

She stills raises a racket if anyone comes near the house or walks down the street.

Winter walks

We're having scottish weather at the moment--okay Bertie, summer scottish weather--overcast, grey, windy and cold(ish) about 50 F.  Naturally we love it, but SHE has been harder to get out of the house in the mornings.  It has taken all three of us badgering encouraging HER to move more quickly.  That means our walks have been later in the morning.
No one was around the carpark when we got there just before 10 am this morning, so Bella and I got to run free!
Kendra always has to stay on the lead.
Bella lost her 'free' privilege halfway through the walk after chasing a jogger, a cyclist, annoying an aged Beagle and eating something disgusting.

Bella, in front and Daisy return from chasing the cyclist.  Actually, Daisy ran after Bella probably to keep her from having fun.
Both yesterday and today, we saw 'roos in the paddocks....it was way past their bedtimes.

We think the overcast conditions mess up their clocks.
The 'roos know they're safe because of the fence--but they were very interested in us.

Today

Last night was cold (for us)  -3 C (26.F).  There was a big old Cheshire Cat moon.....just the smile.
This morning was cold.  But we went out early and went by our shadow fence just as the sun was coming up.
Daisy                                                     Bella
Then we had games in the frost......we made our paws frosty.  SHE had a cappuccino while Bella and I raced around.
Bella                                                       Daisy
When we got home we noticed a couple of these........
Winter in Australia is kind of funny sometimes.
Have a great weekend everyone.

(Kendra is not in the pictures because she didn't want to play Scotties in the Frost......she stayed in bed.)
