T'was the week before Christmas

it arrived at my house.

SHE wouldn't let me open it--

(sometimes SHE's a louse.)

Just look at all the great stuff!

(SHE wasn't forgotten either--3 boxes of Cracker Jack,

and scottie-shaped shortbread.)

Oh, and you didn't really expect us to keep up the poetry, did you?

 Go away, Dui, it was addressed to ME!

 That Snowfreak pack was packed with squeaky toys!

 Dui!  Get your snout outta MY gift!

 Ernie sent it to ME!

 I love it ALL!

And I've been guarding it from Boyo...

 Although he did get the tennis ball....

Dui vomited chewed wood and grass

in the back of the car.)

Trying to get that perfect Christmas picture....or

at least a useable one.

First we tried an Aussie Beach scene.

 Too many distractions and the shadow wasn't right.

 So after playing with the other dogs, we went to our friend's

to use their seat.

Rosy displaying her wonky foot--at its wonkiest.

 Finally, everyone looking at the camera.

Then home to order cards.

Dang!  Roxy is wearing her dirty river collar,

and Dui has mud on his beard.

Oh, well, that's just us!

You know how we always say Dui is a big boy?

 These were taken today.

 No photo shop or anything.

SHE went nuts!

We went to the river this morning for two hours.

When we returned home,

we were all lying around quietly.

Bella was watching an old Christmas move.

WHEN

suddenly, SHE jumped up

pulled our supposed-to-keep-the-couch-clean sheets,

through them in the machine,

sprayed smelly stuff on the carpets,

and pulled Vacula out.

SHE just went nuts!

Like a whirlwind.

Then SHE ripped Dui's mancave apart and

put it outside in the sun while his bed went through

the machine!

Sheesh, we don't know what happened.

Then just as suddenly, everything was peaceful again.

Rainy Morning!

SHE's eating liverwurst on crackers......

Sunday at the river.

We arrived before everyone! 

So we were halfway through with our walk

when Chloe and Jake arrived.

I, Roxy, got the coffee cup to shred!

Dui and Chloe watch for the rest of the gang.

 Soon all eleven of us were there.

We didn't go down to the river, just

stayed in the shade.

Uncle John's handing out Good-o's.

 Then, Ursula arrived.  We haven't seen her in ages.

And she brought her cousin Audrey who is a

Jug (Jack Russell-Pug.)

 Buddy was smitten. 

Finally a girl, his size, who didn't growl at him.

The peeps laughed how he managed to lift his head,

lift his ears and throw out his

eleven-year-old chest.  He followed Audrey around all morning.

We didn't get wet and dirty, so No baths.....BONUS!

Kelly's Ute...

We love Kelly's ute (short for utility vehicle).

It's 27 years old.

Sometimes we just sit on it, sometimes we play wild games.

Bella likes to stay away from the wild games.

Dui loves to be able to see long distances.

SHE loves it because it keeps Dui from chasing cars that go past.

 This is what it looked like last March.

Kelly's dad, who is 88 recently painted it.

We don't care what it looks like....we just love it!

Hoping to get a taste.

So fire up that pan and start cookin'.

Wednesday..

Our first Christmas card arrived today!

 It's from Sully in Texas!

Sully wrote that he is a scottie and does what he wants!

Dui's the same, that's why he 's not in the photo.

(And he didn't get a treat.)

We only sent ours out last Friday.

People say the darnedest things!

SHE was visiting a friend this morning--a friend who was cleaning out her fridge.

Innocently, the friend asked,

'Would your dogs eat this?'

 What do you think....

It sure was good.....

Silent Sunday.....

Seasonal visitor

Froggy arrived last night.

He was there when we went out just before bed.

 Bella greeted him with a kiss--we think it was a kiss.

After a few photos....flash in the dark...

he disappeared.

Apparently, he doesn't like the camera.

I don't like.....

 Sunscreen

 On my nose.

And it is unfair that the scotties don't wear it...

Wednesday Excitement....

Look what was just sitting on our little verandah yesterday!

Picture enlarged....SHE didn't get that close.

 A filigree Siberian hamster RAT!

SHE raced to get the camera and it disappeared.

SHE raced out the side door and it was

there........looking at HER!

Being a typical blogger, SHE took its picture,

and retreated!

 When SHE looked back, it was climbing our security door!

That's when we noticed and...um...rolled in the welcome mat!

It fell off the door....

 sat around the side of the house to recover and then disappeared.

But it was gone.
