Poor Bella.

That's what the peeps at the river call Bella.

When we go to The Devil's Hole, we don't always go down the hill to the river.  Sometimes we stay up near the driving track

 under the trees.

We are usually early, so we walk around the track.

Bella always races ahead and goes into the river.

And there she stays....sometimes for over an hour.

Always, hoping someone will throw rocks to her.

She will not give up until everyone is gone.

Occasionally, someone feels sorry for her and throws a couple of rocks.  The idea is to throw them near enough for her to jump after them but not CATCH them.  She broke a tooth last year.

Ever the optimist she waits, even when trembling with cold.

As soon as she gets home, she goes straight into the laundry room for her dunk, or bath in the tub.

Poor Bella.
