Same ol', same ol' Sunday

We've been busy.  But nothing much to write about.
We've been to the river every morning to walk around the track.

Bella has 'suffered' puppy sniffs.

Roxy and Kenzie continue their keep away games.
 The pups are growing quickly.
And Dui has discovered a hole.
Each and every time we walk past the spot,
he has to race over and put his head in it.
Turns out, it is a neatly dug den of some sort.
Don't know what dug it, but suspect the fox Dui bailed up
a few weeks ago.
We have also chased a 'roo that has been on our side of the river
a few mornings.
So it's just the same ol' stuff.

Monday Mischief

Not OURS......HERS!
The main reason for yesterday's post about the pups
was to tell everyone that those two little white pups
aren't going anywhere.
They were born into their forever home!
(That part accidently deleted.)

Here's a Cockie announcing that it is claiming the nesting spot!

The  Game!
Kenzie always finds something at the river,
a stick, or

Discarded bottle
that she waves in front of Roxy,
daring her to take it.
The chase is on, then they have  a tug-o-war.

 Kenzie eventually cedes to Roxy
because she's older
and Roxy chews it up.
Kenzie will then run off to find another treasure
to tease Roxy with.
They never get tired of the game.

Have a good week.

Maybe some rain

The forecast is for a chance of a little rain tonight.

When we got up, the sky was dark and we thought the rain
 might come a bit earlier.
But all we got was dust.

We had to come home from the river early.
Seems the peeps don't like standing around in dusty wind.

Whoops on Wednesday...

We finally got our sliding door repaired today.
When the strange men left, we found this:
WHOOPS!
(the rollers had collapsed, as well.)

Tankfull Tuesday

It's 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday here, so we're posting on Tuesday.
Look what we woke up to:

Yep, RAIN.  It's not loads of rain, and not supposed to last most of the day, but it
should be enough to fill our little water tank.
 Hence the TANKFULL pun.
(some mornings we're so sharp we almost cut ourselves.)

There has also been a low rumble of thunder:
(Exhibit A)

And as we're on Level 2 water restrictions, it isn't even our day to water the garden..BONUS!
It isn't enough to break the drought, but every little bit helps.
The small town to the north now has a no showers policy,
we dogs, naturally, want to do our part by not having baths!

Frightening Friday the Thirteenth

Bella's turn to see Dr Mervyn.
Bella doesn't like the Vet's.

All the usual examination things okay,
But, she has a lump on the end of her tail.
It is an old cyst with old pus and some 'unidentified cells' in the mix
so it'll have to be watched to see if it grows larger.

Bella was very happy to leave.

Woeful Wednesday on Thursday

Yesterday, after a big walk at the river, we came home
to no electricity.
(The electricity company had sent a letter saying the power would be off from 9 to 4)

SHE went out for a day at the zoo,
and we were left at home.

SHE saw:

And we stayed at home all alone.

sleeping hippo

 And we waited.....

Two playful elephants having pushing contests.
The critically endangered Eastern Bongo
 We slept.
Mother and baby otters looking for snacks.
And we waited....
SHE saw lots of other things,
Siamang Apes, Gibbons,
Wild African Dogs, Przewalski's horses,
Galapagos Tortoises, Eland, Persian onagers, barbary sheep,
camels, assorted Australian Animals and
then stopped to get some Chinese food for lunch.
While we waited....
FINALLY SHE came home and we expected an
afternoon walk; but SHE wanted to rest and went to sleep!

UNTIL the power came back on.
(We did have some of the rice with our dinner.)

No Mischief Monday

That's right, no mischief to report this Monday.
Roxy stayed away from the rotting 'roo.
Dui only had to be on-lead once at the river for a short time.

This is as bad as it got.

Bella

Roxy and Dui
And that grass just brushed right out.

Of course, the weather turned cold with a freezing wind,
so the peeps made us leave early because they were cold.
They'd be warmer if they chased each other around and under the cars, like us--instead of just standing around.

Follow-up Friday

For those who are unsure of a 'Dog Wash'.

It's like a car wash but for dogs.

It costs $10 dollars for 10 minutes.
But, all three dogs can be done in that time.
Yes, we have $1 and $2 coins

Some dogs don't appreciate the spa.
(Including Bella, Roxy and Dui)

Holly

Across the big street near us is a reserve.
Sometimes we go there for a very short walk, or
to start a longer walk.
It is a shortcut for four streets and many people walk dogs there.

The walkway in, has fences on either side for a short distance.

Holly lives on the left side.
She's a border collie.
At first, we would just bark at each other through the fence, then Holly's human cut out a huge 'picture window' for her to see what was happening.

The other day, we noticed some stuff on Holly's window.
When we got close, we saw this:

BOL!

Mystery solved Monday

The story behind the Mini-Me photo.
After our friend Chloe went to the Bridge aided by the dreaded 'C'.
A new dog was added to their family--free from a classified Ad.
Whisky is a supposed black labrador X
(crossed with something that has a beard)
She had had a poor start to life, was starved and ignored.
However, sweet-natured.  She wasn't too sure about all the dogs
at the river and stayed close to the humans, but wasn't aggressive.
After her first weekend at the river, she refused to come again.
Then.....
she produced two puppies (on HER birthday)
As she came off a property, and the pups are so large, we think they may be part Bull Arab.
This past weekend, they came to the river to meet all the dogs.
(Really, they are too young for that.--5 weeks)
Pirate, the mini-Roxy, joined right in with the big dogs.
He is very confident.
Bandit, the masked pup, (now called Pugsley because he is more cautious) took awhile to move away from the basket.
They are being weaned and will probably be surrendered to
the RSPCA for rehoming.
The RSPCA will microchip them, give them all their needles, spay them and vet all potential owners.
Here are some puppy photos.

Just arriving

Note: we don't have room for another pup--no matter how cute they are!
