A beautiful day

Today was such a beautiful day, we went for a long walk on the cycleway near our river. It was Bella's first time there. We only come here in Autumn and Winter because of snakes. We have two common venomous types in the area and know a few dogs who were helped over the Rainbow Bridge by them. So we go when the snakies are asleep. (We hope). But this isn't the Rainbow Bridge, it just goes over a creek.
Bella leads the way. Kendra and I are still reading the pee-mail.

Here we are....follow the yellow brick road...(sic). For once Kendra is up with us. Usually, she is way behind bringing up the rear.
This little Red-rumped parrot was out enjoying the day, too.
There was loads of things to sniff in the Autumn leaves.
Then we got to the river. This is Bella. She's a keen bird watcher and there were some water birds out there.

I went in for a paddle, but Bella didn't want to get wet at all. She just watched.

There were huge flocks of galahs and cockatoos flying around screeching. They're VERY loud.
Kendra didn't want to leave. She just loved looking at the river.
These are only a few of the galahs in a huge tree.

On the way back to the car, we stopped for a look on the little bridge. The picnic area by the car was full of people having a sausage sizzle. I found a sausage on the ground. It was very hot, but I didn't let that stop me. I did not share and ate the whole thing.

Bella got covered in these hitchhiker things. (This is her pitiful scottie look.) They were very hard to get out of her coat, but they could have burrowed into her skin if left there. She a great time anyway.

  2. Hi girls, that looks like such a fab walk! Max is just like Bella - nothing can persuade him to get his paws wet, whilst JD will just RUN into the sea for a swim to cool down!

Max also likes to watch the birds - he's fascinated by them, he adores watching the ducks float down the river! And Daisy - paws up to your great find re: the sausage!! We salute you! :)

We also suffer from those hitchiker things - FH and MH spend ages picking them out of our fur when we come back from walks and then they compare the size of their piles to see which one of us picked up the most debris!!

Schnauzer snuggles - JD and Max.

  5. Snakes! I guess these are bigger than worms and they sound dangerous too! Guess I am glad to be living in the mild UK where we don't have bad things that can get you (I hope)!

  8. what a grrreat walkie, miss daisy! i'm glad you ladies didn't run into any snakes, though. that would be way scary like. we had a snake in our backyard one time last summer, but fortunately it was just a corn snake (not poisonous).
there were definitely a lot of birdies! i'd be hanging out with miss bella watching them, too. :)
oh, and a sausage sizzle sounds SO YUMMY.

  9. What a Most Wonderful walkie! I felt like I was right there with you. It's very wise to stay away from snakes. I don't think I've ever met one but Brudder Ranger has met TWO and he says that if I ever meet one, I mustn't try to play with it. I'm a little worried that I might forget his advices but I'm gonna try real hard to remember.

I am going to immediately talk to mom and dad abouts having us a sausage sizzle cuz that sounds DEE-lish!

    Wiggles & Wags,
    Mayzie
