A New Walk...

On Wednesday morning, we took Oz's advice
and went on a NEW(ish) Walk.
Only newish because we have been there before,
a long time ago.

An old photo of us looking innocent.
The plan was to go EARLY, before too many people were around.
We were going to walk over the BIG bridge
on the south side, then through the playing fields
to the Pedestrian bridge, and all the way back to the car.

It was dark when we arrived (the bridge does have lights)
but found the under bridge walkway fenced off.
We clambered up through the bushes and
walked across the north side of the bridge.

We had to keep walking because there were a few
people out on the narrow walkway.
When we got to the end of the bridge,
Dui did a poo.
While SHE was cleaning that up, our leads
got tangled.  And just as SHE had them sorted,
some walkers came by with a yappy dog.
We became tangled again.
More people and dogs came by. We went
down a side street, but there were
GROUPS of people with Personal Trainers;
cyclists, groups of runners, and
people with dogs.
Not even 6:00 a.m and it was crowded.
We walked under the railway bridge,
across the little bridge and up the
other side of the river......again, under the railway bridge,
stopping whenever a cyclist, runner, or walker

When we got back to the car, it was light.
SHE noticed the bridge under path was
fenced on the end--not on the path!

We have christened it, the NEVER AGAIN walk!

  1. A long walk nonetheless, just a little too complicated BOL. About being early, guess everyone has the same idea so maybe should go later instead. Just sayin'

  2. We are not chuckling at your terrible walk.
Yesterday we did the same old walk but it was sheer ice so it was scary!

  3. What a nightmare! I don't blame you for christening the walk never again. Who could believe it could be so busy so early.

  4. oh what an adventure... we have such anever again walkway too... it's covered with pizzas... cow pizzas yum!

  5. we agree - there are some place just better to stay away from :)

  6. Oh no! We have had some of those "never again" walks too. Hope you find a better walk next time. Nose licks and love from Moth xx

  7. Rule number 1: Don't go near bridges and NEVER cross one. It is the secret to immortality.

  8. Yuck, we don't like walks like that either. Luckily for us, there are so many options for walks here that we rarely see anyone.

  9. We wouldn't like that walkie either. We think that Dui "SAID" the right thingy.. there on the bridge. hehehehe

  10. Ohhhhhhhhhhh for sure never to walk there again. Lesson learned.
MOLMOL Frankie and Ernie were right. Dui said poo poo on it from the beginning
    Hugs madi your bfff

  11. Dat shure sounds like a crowded walk.

  12. We are tired just listening about your walk from hell BOL

  13. Sometimes these things happen. Tangled leashes happens quickly too!

    Your Pals,

    Murphy & Stanley

  14. Doesn't sound like much fun for Her.

  15. Dui - At least you left your mark . Well done !

  16. That sure sounds like it was a challenging walk/trek!!! We got to walk again today too, and we also crossed a bridge. Lightning got startled by a biker who snuck up on us, and that sort of spoiled the walk:(

    Woos - Lightning and Misty

  17. It sounds like a very busy route so early in the morning! Our peeps like it quiet and more uneventful too.

  18. If you didn't live in Australia Wed be worried tuvok was the yappy dog

  19. You Aussies must be an early rising bunch. You would never find that many people out at that hour around here even in the summer. We're glad you all made it home safe and sound.

  20. Well, it sounds more adventuresome than my walk usually is. Yesterday my peep decided we'd take a different route, but it was still just along roads. She once took me down to the ocean, but I wasn't very happy to see it - too much water all in one place !
