Blog Story

There was a link to WUSA on our blog the other day, about a tornado that hit the town where our auntie lives.
SHE looked at it and realised that the trail of destruction
was very close to her house, but SHE couldn't
enlarge the map and couldn't see how close it actually was.
An email was sent to see if they had any damage, and was assured that there were only branches down and the trash bins were found several houses down.
But a large tree had  fallen just a couple of houses up the street.

SHE sent  another email to our other auntie who lives
nearby, and had sent a few emails after the tornado,
but didn't mention it.
Auntie B also said she'd driven to Auntie D's house, about 20 minutes after the tornado and didn't notice a thing.
Auntie B also thought it was very funny the way the information came to us.

  1. It's amazing how connected our world is even though we are so far apart physically. We're glad to hear your relatives were safe and you all look fabulous.

  4. oh how great that all are ok... we have trees everywhere too and our dad learnt that in his age a leap over a tree on the ground ends not with standing ovations but with sitting ones....

  6. So pleased you Aunties are OK.
My favourite blog story is how the Liberal Democrat candidate for last year's EU elections came round to give me some election leaflets after she read a comment I'd left on Bob and Sophie's blog and tracked me down, as described in Bertie's post of 23 May 2019. Cheers, Gail.

  8. Oh Auntie best be on good behavior...SHE has eyes and ears and Google maps at HER disposal. Very Interesting story and so very thankful the Aunties are well.
I have a WWFs story does that count?
I am addicted to it. My log in is the name of 07wolfpack...that is it. Back last summer a new lady invited me to play, I accepted.
After a few months I rec'd a WWF chat from her. As a rule I don't respond to chats 'cause they could be evil trolls. But she simply asked are you and NCSU fan because of the wolfpack. I replied yes.
she asked are you in NC, I replied yes Raleigh. She Said I'm in
NC too Yadkin CO. Well that BLEW my mind...my oldest and dearest friend lives in Yadkin Co. (She is the one we go see every year)
I said my very oldest friend lives in Yadkin Co. She said really who,
I told her well lo and behold she lives about 1/2 a mile from my friend and her daughter used to baby sit for my friend's children.
Hugs and I hope SHE and you 3 haven't been put to sleep by my story.

  10. Crazy how rumors and stories circulate! :-) So, glad your family was all okay - I never did see the damage it caused, but heard afterwards there were several trees down along Battlefield Parkway, and my friend says there are several tarps on roofs too.
