We're back...

after being abandoned and incarcerated for 5 days!

We nearly ripped her jeans off we were so excited to be released!

Actually, we don't mind the kennel, but don't want HER to know.
We love home best.

This time, Bella had a sore on her foot when we arrived.
SHE had been treating it and deciding on a  visit to the dreaded vet,
but didn't get around to it....knowing that Debbie at the kennel,
who breeds, shows, judges dogs
as well as runs the Puppy Preschool
would probably know what it was.
She did.
Diagnosed a grass seed, worked all weekend on Bella,
and presented HER with the offending seed.
Here it is between an American quarter and Australian 5c coin
for scale.

We call this arrow grass, because it burrows in the skin and can travel through the body.
SHE is very good at checking our fur after a run in the bush,
but missed this one.
Debbie's had several encounters with these little buggers and knew exactly what to do.......without any charge!
We love Debbie.

  7. Fortunately those burrowing seeds aren't in my area. On the west coast I think they are called foxtails.

  10. Here, we call them "foxtails". You need better birds to eat those seeds before they become a problem.
