A Tuesday Tale of Monday Mischief....

First of all before, SHE tells this story,

it was a COLD (coldest May night in 17 years), FROSTY night.

When we had our Early Morning Walk,

SHE thought the tips of HER fingers were going

to break off, they were so frozen.

After we returned home, Dui raced outside to bark

at a policeman who was walking passed.

He went next door and we could see two policemen talking

to next door Jenny (not to be confused with-across-the-street

Jenny who is the cat person.)

Later, SHE asked next door Jenny what it was about.

Jenny's husband found some strange clothes in the back of his truck in the morning--perhaps get away clothes.

Then Jenny said, "Didn't you hear the commotion last night?

There was a break-in up the street and there were

police cars all over the place, and policemen with dogs

searching the streets.  I was surprised your dogs didn't bark!"

Well....it WAS COLD and FROSTY!

Anyway, the police had everything under control!

SHE says the police should have had police cats,

then we would have barked.

Some cockatoos greet the morning.

Birthday--part 2

When we went to the river on our birthday yesterday.....

 We took cheesy, bacon muffins for everyone.

 They were greatly appreciated by all of our friends.

And we met two new dogs...

Chico, who joined in the water games

 And Theo...who is a Maremma.

He was running with goats before he came to

his forever family.

Dui liked Theo, following him everywhere.

There's an Australian film called 'Oddball' about a Maremma who lives with Little Penguins.

We didn't think Theo was odd, at all.

I'm FIVE!

It was my birthday today....22nd May.

 My ♥♥♥Ernie♥♥♥ sent me a special Birthday Parcel last week.

Isn't it festive!!

 He enclosed a card with 87 Bazillion kisses, just for me.

 There's a new special red ball and a chipmunk that you can put a bottle in.

 I love my chipmunk.  I cuddled it and slept with it.

 And kept it away from that annoying Dui!

We got the ingredients for a birthday cake...

 Our favourite cake.....steak, cottage cheese, tasty cheese sprinkles and kibble.

Of course, I had to share my birthday with Bella

because we missed hers. (11 April)

The pretend rocks, and squeaky alligator are hers, and the kangaroos tail treats in the net bags, we all share.

We had a fantastic day!

Bravery!

(Usually Roxy runs when Vacula makes an appearance.)

Those Darned Cats....

When we got back from our 'holiday' at the kennels.

Not only did we find CAT FOOTPRINTS on

OUR car.....including SLIDING prints down the windscreen.

BUT

look at the chair ON OUR front verandah!

One of THOSE CATS--probably that sneaky ROY,

 left POO on OUR chair!

 Or maybe hairballs, SHE didn't look too closely.

BUT, whatever, it was a definite invasion AND

showing disrespect for us!

GRRRRRRRRRR!

Ursula...

We finally got to meet Ursula.

For the last few months, everyone at the river said,

"You must meet Ursula!"

Or

"Ursula was here yesterday.

You missed her."

Or

"Maybe Ursula will come today,

you must meet her."

Well, yesterday.....Ursula came to the river!

She's a Bull Arab X Airedale (?)

and is only ONE Year Old....

AND she loves catching rocks in the river.

So here's Ursula.........

First Foggy Morning....

Saturday morning was our FIRST foggy morning this year.

We were out early to enjoy it!

Even Bella (no photo) was racing around and joining in games.

 But our friends were LATE! 

(Bella was already in the river at this point.)

Hurry up, everyone!

Finally, they  arrived!

GAME ON!

And the sun burnt the fog away and we had a beautiful day.

Trouble..

Hi Everyone!  We've been having computer problems.  More specifically:  Windows 10, Firefox, Norton and our server.

We lost our blog for a day....grrrrr.

Not being computer literate does NOT help.

(The air here is blue with HER swearing.)

Other than some much needed rain on Monday and Tuesday,

the weather has been beautiful....sunny and COOL!

In addition to our Early Morning Walk...mostly in the DARK,

we've been taking walks in the afternoons.

On Thursday, we returned to the southern part of our river

and walked along the Tracker Riley Cycle Way.

We didn't go in the summer.....ksa (known snake area).

Naturally, there were scents EVERYWHERE,

so it was a slow walk.

 We went up to the playing fields...

So we could race around like maniacs. 

 Then back down to the second bridge...

 And along the track to the car.

We ALL loved it--even if we had to be on leads.

And it calmed HER for the next bout with the computer.

The Pencil Vane eeah Visit...

While we were locked away for three LONG weeks.....

SHE visited AND STAYED THE NIGHT with

Frankie and My ♥♥♥Ernie♥♥♥!

One of their jobs....keeping the chairs warm.

 F n E got out their toy box and had to entertain themselves because SHE and their Mom are

retired teachers and TALKED and talked and talked for HOURS about how teaching was better in the OLDEN DAYS.

(and Frankie sat in HER lap and snuggled, while my

Ernie was on Squirrel Duty and did important stuff.)

This isn't a great photo...turns out Ernie and I are photogenic 

(while the black dogs come out as blobs.)

But if you look at my Ernie carefully, he has a

RIDGE on his back like mine!

 Finally, the boys got them out of the house and took them for a walk around the 'hood.

They saw the 'pond' and everything !

 The boys were perfect hosts, SHE said.

SHE also got to meet Sarge, and the Crabby Girls

in their new flash RC--Recreational Crabitat.

And witnessed a great escape when one of the girls made a break for it!

SHE was amazed that the boys share a dinner bowl!

(That wouldn't happen here...)

 

My Ernie was on the ball the whole time SHE was there...

 And Frankie?  Well what can we say....

 There were lots more adventures, but SHE'll save those.

Routine...

We may have been incarcerated for nearly four weeks,

but were were immediately back in routine.

We got HER up early the first morning,

remembered our snack and dinner times 

and where the cats usually hang out.

Saturday morning, it was back to the river.

 We had a slow, walk around the track--we had lots of smells to investigate--then down to the river.

SHE had to admit to Frankie and Ernie that Bella's blue rock had

floated down the river, but was

able to get four replacements.

 Bella stayed in the river most of the morning and enjoyed the new rock--it has dental floss attached, so it won't get lost.

Dui and I played with our friends.

It was good to be back!
