Our Easter Weekend
We had four days of gettin' down and dirty!
Four river mornings with our friends.
Bella spent a total of 6 hours standing IN the river.
Every once in awhile someone would feel sorry for her and throw her rock for a minute or so.
Just before Easter, SHE came home to find a package addressed to Bella and HERself.
It was from Sweet William and Lee.
Mostly, it had treats for HER: Peeps and a Peep stuffie, sugar egg with a scene inside, Reece's pieces carrot, Godiva chocolate, Sweet William calendars, a scottie card, and for Bella a little spatula and
Bunny cookie cutter.
SHE made Peanut Butter Bunnies for us.
We shared them with our friends at the river.
THANKS, SWEET WILLIAM!
And guarded our front yard from the Front Yard Cats.
We'd also like to point out that HER package wasn't opened or deemed a Bio-security hazard.

Successful Saturday......(and Sunday)
The new 'blue rock' that Frankie and Ernie sent Bella has been a HUGE success!
Sometimes she just chews on it before putting it back down
to be thrown again.
Here are some pictures of her in action.
She can catch it and not break her teeth. She loves grabbing it off the bottom before it floats to the top; snorkeling, we call it.
We thank FnE for such a great, thoughtful present!

Snicker Thursday....
Well....SHE repaired the treat pocket in the dog-walking pants,
using a sock...
that some pup chewed..
It is larger than before, and can hold many treats,
Until Dui goes through the laundry basket again.

Also Happy St Patrick's Day!
The only wearing of the green here,
was the grass.
It rained most of the day-----between walks.
Some St Pat's humour...
Have a great day!

Snicker Wednesday....A Postal Story
Several weeks ago, Frankie and Ernie emailed to say they were sending a pretend 'rock' for Bella.
We were on the look out for it.
Then a large (Chewy box) arrived and we opened it.
That was Roxy's Easter parcel.
We emailed F n E to say it arrived, and they said
there was another on the way for Roxy for Easter.
(Are you following this?)
The original package hadn't arrived.
Yesterday, we found it in our letter box
with a sticker on it!
Inside was a leaflet stating....
And it contained a letter to explain that the plastic 'rock' would float, so maybe Bella
play with it at the river instead of real rocks.
They felt sorry that she had to wait for someone to throw
rocks for her.
They said it would float, and it does.
We'll try it out on Saturday in the river, in a calm part where
the current won't take it.
Bella checked it out.
We're not sure what the result will be as Bella
is very particular about the size of rock and
where it lands, but we'll let you know.
Thanks guys!
(We think our name might be on record
on the Customs computers.)

Weekend Wrap Up....
It was a river weekend....again!
On Kelly's ute with Kelly the kelpie, Auntie Sue and Uncle Ron, just after Roxy's jumping attempt. |
Roxy attempted to jump up on Kelly's truck, and fell heavily. She was lifted up and had lots of cuddles from Uncle Ron and
Auntie Sue.
However, she did not hurt herself.
Sunday morning it was pouring rain, but by 7:30 when we go to the river, it had stopped--the dry ground just soaked up all that water.
Roxy joined in a few games of race around the cars and
bite your neck!
Bella played the 'rock' game with anyone who would throw rocks
or just sat in the river waiting for someone to play.
Dui got everyone going....or annoyed every dog as usual.
Roxy went on our early morning walk (in the dark)
this morning....about a mile...no problems (paws crossed.)
Dui chewed through HER treat pocket in the dog-walking
pants.......again.
(Oh, and the lady Dui nipped was very understanding--
more so than SHE was.)

Greetings Everyone...
We're still here.
Not doin' much.
Roxy is still not a 100% fit
and is under house arrest.
She doesn't like it and cries pitifully when
left behind for the morning walk.
Luckily, the sun isn't coming up until nearly 7 a.m.
so the neighbours are awake.
We went to the river on Saturday and Sunday.
Roxy walked around a little, but mostly sat
on the truck, getting cuddles from everyone.
There is a definite improvement but her back legs
are weak.
The weather seems to have got stuck on 35°C/95°F
and 20°C/68°F, so no one is interested in
walking during the day.
The Vet said it may take up to 6 weeks to heal
completely, so we're going slowly.
(Except Dui )
