Sunday morning.....

This morning was very foggy.  A real pea-souper.
For some reason, the gate across the access road to the river beach has been closed.

We just walk around the track, and then play with our friends in the parking/picnic area.

Our friend Flash is.....well.....very tubby (and old).  He has lost some weight, not that you'd notice....yet.

When we park next to the river, Flash's peeps park their
truck facing down the hill, so Flash can easily get
out and in.

But,  the parking lot is flat.  Flash's peeps made him a
ramp which he won't use and converted it to a step....
that he won't use.

So today, it was all hands on deck to get Flash
into the truck.

That's Flash's brother Buddy on the left.

Took a bit of hefting, but finally they got him in!

Oh....and that fog stayed around for most of the day.  And it was cold. 8.5°C/47°F.
Coldest daytime temp for us so far.
That's cold for HER and Roxy who's fur challenged.
(We only have a little electric heater and no insulation.)
The scotties have spent the day playing dog in/dog out.

  1. Pawsome that the pawrents helped Flash to go back in the car.... I wonder why most pups stay away from ramps... it's a miracle...
Shall I send you some of our heat? Even my momma who has no furs said, it's too hot here...
Have a good sunday and stay warm and comfy :o)

  2. tell Flashes peeps to cover the ramp with old carpet - it is too slippery for him which is why he probably won't use it :)

  3. Poor Flash. Maybe he'd like a wider ramp so he can't see the ground as he climbs. Thank goodness he has very helpful peeps!

    Love ya lots♥

  5. Flash is a cutie. So nice that he has such a caring family to lift him in and out of the truck. We had to lift Pip in and out of the car, up and down the stairs, etc. ...but of course, he only weighed 10 pounds.

  8. We are sorry you are cold - your 8 is around Lady's fav temperatures. She likes 5-15C the best (we think she is a little crazy).

Glad Flash had a lot of people on his side.

  9. Poor Flash - he has nice humans to try so hard to help him.

We would love some of that cooler weather, but not unless it comes with snow.

  11. Mom tried a ramp with us but we wouldn't use it either. Maybe they need to get a little sports car.

  12. Sorry your weather is poor. They need one of those lift things in the back of the truck to get your friend inside

  14. Our Harri needed a ramp in his latter days. He wouldn't use it either. Too slippery. Mum put some of that non-slip rubber stuff on it and he went up and down that thing with ease. Maybe that would help Flash. Save everyone's backs from a fate worse than death, aye?? That foggy photo is beautiful!! Crikey it's been cold down your way. My Mum would NEVER get out of bed, let alone go out walking, in those temps.

  15. It's kind of sad that Flash is so heavy. And that he doesn't like the ramp (our dogs use one even now, to save their joints from getting bad when they're older). But it was so sweet of everyone to help Flash into the truck!

I hope your weather warms up and gets sunny!

  19. Flash knows for sure he has friends all around to give him a boost. I hope he can continue to loose a little tubbiness.

OH MY dogs it is cold down under and the dampness makes it even worse. Sounds like you are having as cold a winter as we are having a hot summer.
