A Surprise....

We got some mail today.  It was from Mitch and Molly.  Their mum made some Christmas stockings and we won one!

We hung it on the hutch..

 next to Angel Maggie's mitten, that they sent us.

 That way, we can remember our friends all the time!

We found lots of these feathers in a friend's driveway--no body though.

We're not sure what kind of bird they're from...

a parrot of some sort.

We haven't seen feathers like this before,

 we just wanted to show you.

There are lots of cats in that area.

It's Boxing Day here...  We'll be going to the river in awhile.  But we thought we'd show you some photos from yesterday--

Christmas Day!

The Cockies were enjoying Bella's puddle when we arrived.

We had to chase them away.

It's really Flash and Buddy's dad.

Flash got jealous when we tried on his antlers.  Here his mum restrains him while Chloe has a turn.

Flash is the only dog we know who just loves wearing antlers.

We stayed at the river for a couple of hours and then went home to sleep while SHE went to out for the day. 

We also got some lovely, gentle rain late in the day 

and through the night.

Rain is always welcome.

But this morning it's sunny and beautiful, so we're off to the river again.

Merry Christmas....

He came!  Santa Paws came!

We got loads of treats and a snowfreak with six squeakers and

a burping beaver!

We're going to the river to play with our friends this morning....

then have a nap while SHE goes out...and later....

Christmas.Eve....

This is post 1187!

It's the morning of Christmas Eve here.

We were allowed to open one of our gifts...........finally.

It's from....

With their annual Snowfreak card that they are forced to send.

The parcel came 87 weeks ago but it was put away!

We're wearing our Christmas collars that Frankie and Ernie gave us.

 Look at all the stuff!

 As we unpacked everything, Dui kept stealing the toys.

Having snaffled the Gingerbread man, Dui grabs the quilted squirrel.

But he wasn't getting the burping fox!

 While we were negotiating who would play with the burping fox, first, SHE looked at HER stuff.

 A scottie ice-tray, scottie pen, and a beautiful little plate with an old school on it!

We have new leads, too.

We couldn't get a good THANK YOU picture, because Dui was trying to get the toys back and Bella was hiding.

THANKS AGAIN!

Our Christmas is off to a great start.

 They really don't apply to us anymore, except Dui.

Okay..I, Roxy, may still lunge at cats....and birds 

when walking on the lead.

 And sometimes we run away and ignore HER to investigate things.

I do steal Dui's toys when he's playing with them.

But Dui's the one who digs and chews and shreds stuff.

He's the one who brings sticks inside,

and annoys Bella.

So Bella and I think we need new stockings.

Although if they get filled with treats and stuff,

 we'll use them again.

Frankie and Ernie.....

               are SOOOOOOO right.

They warned us that peeps would try to get rid of some of our toys using the excuse that Santa Paws would bring us some new ones.

 Tennis ball,

 And other squirrel.

 We had to show HER that there was still a lot of play left in them.

Our friend Kyla....

Today we got the news that our friend Kyla went to the Bridge.

She warned us in her posts and comments that it would happen, but we kept hoping she could put it off a bit longer;

after all, she'd put up with Addison's disease and pancreatitis.

But, it was cancer pain that took away her quality of life.

She let her family know it was time. 

We loved reading Kyla's comments, she was a tough cookie.

We feel privileged to have received one of her Scottie Mobile number plates.

We put it over our carport, so we could see her every day--

we'll keep it there.

Kyla was the Green Bean Queen.

So tonight, we had  green beans for dinner in memory of her.

The Legend of Kyla will live on.

Today, I'm Nine Months old!

I'm a bit taller and longer than Bella already.

but she's fatter.

 I'm not afraid of ANYTHING!

December 14th...

Three years ago, today, our Kendra went to the Bridge.

 She was 12 years and 7 months old.

 Kendra was not socialised as a puppy. 

 She didn't like people or change.

 Sneaking up behind people and trying to bite 

an ankle was her MO.

 Most people were afraid of her....and she didn't care.

 But Kendra loved HER,
Daisy and Bella.
 

And SHE loved Kendra.

We miss her acerbic personality!
