Hugs for Benny

We don't have any photos of us hugging or being hugged.....sigh.

 But we wanted to join in Benny's Hug-a-thon.

Bella

Roxy goes shopping

Roxy went shopping for the first time.

SHE and Roxy sneaked off while Bella and I were asleep.

 Though Roxy was definitely out of her comfort zone.

 She was very brave and got on with the job.

 It helped that there weren't many people in the shop and the assistants gave her lots of pats and some treats.

We, Bella and I--think 'she done good'.

Anybody recognise this?

SHE says this is our Mud Room supposed-to-get-most-of-the-dirt-off-our-feet carpet. 

 That's why it's so dirty.

A new month.....

It's September and

It's Spring!

Today is the official first day of spring!

Some of our plants are celebrating.

We've had a beautiful day!

The temperature was 25°C (78°F)

Sky brilliant blue and cloudless....

 We went to the river!

It's also Wattle Day.

 It's our National Emblem and our official colours
....Green and Gold.

(Yes, Bertie, that's where the yellow lycra cycle pants come from.)

It's on our Coat of Arms.

(Useless Fact 8787:  Australia is the only country that eats its National Animals--we think)

And

It's Father's Day!

We don't have a Dad, but we get to share our friends' dads.

So Happy Spring, Wattle Day and Father's Day!

Hope our US friends are having a great Labor Day Weekend.

Now, have we covered everything......oh, changed the calendar and Bella isn't interested.

Our Cheatin' Walk...

SHE calls this our cheatin' walk.  It's just down our street  and is one of the lead-free areas in town.

We get off our leads as soon as we get there.

Roxy races off.

 It's called Redhill Reserve.

This is us heading up the HILL....BOL!

If you get out a magnifying glass and squint, you might just see Roxy up ahead.

 Now we're walking up the hill.

 Roxy of course has headed off to do her own thing.

 Bella and Roxy are at the top of the hill.

 Roxy and Bella take off at this point and race madly out one of the entrances.

 Bella saw a cat out there about 2 years ago and she goes to look for it.  Roxy just goes because Bella does and Roxy always likes to be first.

But today there's a strange man with a mower there.

 We're heading back to our get the lead on spot. 

 That's the hill behind us in case you didn't notice.

Then we get a treat and head back home.  We live between that white van on the left (look closely) and the red house.

It's our cheatin' walk because it's so close, takes about 10 minutes and SHE doesn't have to walk far.

This is usually our mid-day outing.
