Mini Us-Olympics

Our minis who were made by Lynne as a surprise, from the OP Pack are competing in the 2014
Mini Us-'lympics in Blogville.

Firstly, we have Roxy, competing in the Snowboarding Slopestyle.  First time at the Olympics for this event,
but we think she has a handle on it!
Here she is coming out of a Triple Cork....
The crowd goes wild...
Over on the Alpine Ski Slope,11-year old Daisy,  the oldest competitor here today, shows her stuff
 in the Freestyle Skiing event.
GO, DAISY-MIN!!!!!

SHE's just come out of a double flip!
 ****
Bella goes for medal run
 in the Giant Slalom!
Her time is great, no mistakes and she's heading for the finish.
The Last Flag

Can't believe that Daisy, not content with her aerial skiing....
is also competing in the Bobsled Skeleton event!

Excellent style, fantastic speed..in with a chance!
And finally, all three minis are out of the gate...shooting down the  Bobsled track!

Into the first curve.....
Looking good, great control, so far!

On to the straight and heading for a big finish!

Looks like the girls will be bringing home some medals!

Betrayal and Redemption...

Later in the morning after our EARLY morning walk,
we packed into the car just like the other day when we went to the sports ground.

BUT,
We went to the VETs!

Bella and I went in and Roxy stayed in the car....crying and barking.

I, Daisy, had my mouth checked.  SHE wasn't sure if I had irritated the growth or it was growing quickly. (It's growing quickly.)

Bella had her ears checked, because she's been shaking them.
Bella causing a small earthquake on the table.
SHE thought maybe they were sore from being in the river, but they were VERY clean, just a slight redness in one ear.

However, things picked up as we headed home.
We went to another section of the Tracker Riley cycleway
 near our old beach.

The doctor said that Bella could get in the river,
 and that's what she did.
We ran around in and out of the water, then headed back over the bridge,
to dry off on the sports ground and have a longer run.
It's set up for Cricket at the moment.
We walked all around one section and then headed back to the car.
It's been getting hotter each day, so we won't have a mid-morning walk for a few days.
We nearly forgot the betrayal of the VETS.

Wednesday Walkies

Today was cool(ish).  We went to the sports grounds for
 an EXTRA walk.
We sniffed everything and left pee-mail.

 Roxy chased birds.
 And I rolled.
 Bella and I wandered around....
 And I rolled.

I chased birds with Roxy...

 And rolled.
Roxy stalked birds (they're to the left of that tree).

Bella checked out the Canteen and facilities.

And I rolled....

 It was a great walk.

Note:  Daisy's mouth does not bother her at all.  She still eats hard kibble, bone biscuits and hard treats. She races around like a puppy, barks at cats and intruders (anyone who dares walk in front of our house). It bothers HER!

Cycleway revisited

We had a surprise this morning.  We went back to the
Tracker Riley Cycleway.
We haven't been there in months and months.

We didn't walk along the river, we went the other way towards
 the zoo.
SHE was looking for 'roos that often feed in these paddocks.
But there were only HUGE cows.

Okay.....they were calves.
Big calves.

Tracker Riley was a local Aboriginal policeman who helped track criminals, murderers and found lots of people lost in the bush.
He faced prejudice with gentleness, but this incident made him extremely sad....

The 13 km of cycle/walk way has been named in his honour.

We walked all the way out to the zoo about 2.5 km one way
but we're not allowed in, even if it had been open.

So we had a refreshing drink...
and headed back.
It took us about an hour and a half, because there was lots of pee-mail and other good scents.
We also had to keep stopping and standing because there were so many other peeps on the track.
We still had a great time.

Happy Groundhog's Day!

Remember if Punxsutawney Phil...

predicts six more weeks of winter weather, later today...

Just sayin'.
