Thankful Thursday

Today, we're thankful for Bella!

UPYRKILT I'm on Fire

That's her registered name.  She's the ONLY one in this household with papers.

But we don't make a big deal about it, because we don't want her to know 

how ill-bred the rest of us are.

Oh....all right....

Bella has lost some of her 'fire'.  She usually pokes along behind the rest of us.

Unless, there is a perceived threat.  

Like another  dog....or bike...or cat.

While Roxy and Dui have their leads locked very short,

Bella has been known to take over and go after the threat!

Today she is TEN!

We'll have an extra walk and TREATS to Celebrate.

Wordless Wednesday Watch.....

Drought

The good thing about drought.....

is every day is perfect.

Our river

This morning as we read, with envy, of so many bloggers experiencing lots of rain, we thought of our river.

This was what it looked like a few weeks ago.

This is it now.

It's disgusting at the moment:  low, mucky and covered in weeds.

Our reservoir is only 7% full.

Some towns to the west of us are out of water.

We're lucky we only have a mucky river.

So if you can spare some of that rain, 

blow very hard, everyone together and send it south, please.

Unfair

SHE said I smelled like a dog.

So I rolled in something aromatic at the river.... 

I'm ignoring the afghan on the left which is for dogs to lie on.

and got a bath!

Life is so unfair at times...…….sigh.

Thankful Thursday

We are thankful for the lady next door.

On rubbish night, she came over to ask if we wanted some meat she had in her freezer.  She said it had been in the freezer for awhile and she was going away for a few weeks so it was going in the bin as she wouldn't eat it.  

Then she thought of three deserving dogs (who only bark at her sometimes.)

Look what we scored!

A bag of twenty individually wrapped  sandwich steaks.

Our freezer is full now. 

We are very thankful....

but we may still bark at her sometimes.

Early Morning Cat Watch

Monday Mystery......

Every morning, we get up early for our early morning walk.

SHE usually gets 6 treats for us.  We have one treat when we get back....and have to do the sit, down and wait thing.  While we're waiting, SHE goes to the backroom and hangs up our leads.  SHE calls us and we come for another treat.

This morning, SHE got the 6 treats, then got dressed and ready to go.  BUT, the treats were missing!  SHE checked everywhere SHE might have put them.  BUT the treats were never found!

It is a Mystery!
(Luckily, we had more treats.)
