At the Million Paws Walk, one of the local VETs--not ours luckily--had a stall.
They  had a scale for weighing  your pets.
Our friend Zuleika got on and got 2 (two) sample packets of WEIGHT REDUCTION kibble!

I, Daisy, got on and received a sample bag, filled with advertising stuff about that VET and a pedometer so SHE can see how many steps SHE takes.  (We have shorter legs so we take more.)

NO TREATS!

But worst of all was this leaflet...

We furkids at Downunder Daisy feel that this information should NOT be given out willynilly and may well be dangerous in the hands of treat-giving peeps.

There is so much room for abuse or misTREATment as peeps try to adapt this information to our usual treats.
We may become Treat Deprived.  Just sayin'.
We want to see the empirical evidence for these claims.
We mean, who's giving a cat a single potato chip?

What do you think Blogville??

  1. We also feel that pets should not be Treat Deprived. We live for our treats. If ever you want a Filipino faction of your organization, we will join it!

  2. Treat Deprivation - that sounds terrible. I think that leaflet should be shredded by somedoggy - woofs and licks from Magic xx

  3. I asked our dogs about this chart and Todd and the others agree that anything the cat doesn't like or eat, like a chip, they get and it shouldn't count against them.

  4. This is terrible!!! We must call a special meeting with Mayoress Madi to discuss how this could negatively affect our lives!!

Pee.s. Daisy you don't need to reduce. You are perfect!!

  6. Potentially disastrous.
    Toodle pip!
Bertie (who bounces off all his treats).

  11. Our cats sometimes get a single potato chip. We sometimes can use sad eyes and get more than one. Now thanks to some horrible vet who gave out some information we likely won't get one. However, last time our vet visited he gave us a couple, so maybe they are ok.

  12. Love your new header. I'm always a little jealous when I see 3 well-behaved and posed pups. I know it called TRAINING and I could do it too, but I prefer to just be bitter and jealous.

I thought the information sheet was interesting, but Freedom, Casper, Nikki & Twinkie said it was a bunch of rot.

  15. Well now, we don't agree with the cahrt. We eat all kinds of stuff and the vet says we are at our idea weight and have been for quite a while, so take that chart!

  16. Let's do the logic. Follow the money. If there are no treats, all of us will be malnourished and we'll get taken to the vet. This piece of poo was distributed by a vet. It's revenue enhancement for the vet set.

  18. We will send Lightning to destroy that chart! Our vet tells Mom the same thing. She is actually pretty good about not giving us too many high calorie treats, but she can't get Dad to understand that the table food is not good for us. WHAT?????? We told Dad to put cotton in his ears.

  20. I know I'll sound like a spoil-sport, but that chart sounds like good advice. There are so many overweight pets here in the US....maybe a bit of education is a good thing!

Show love with a long walk, not a snack!

  21. Wow, ladies, I agree that this could be horrible! We never get enough kibble as it is, but know we risk starving clear to death. OMD my stomach is growling already. We never need less food...more exercise sometimes yes, but less food never.

  38. scotsmad....
Your new Header!! I love it!! ;)
Whoa. I seldom ever feed Rose hamburger. And when I do, it's just the meat. I do not feed Rose cookies. Unless they are her home-baked treats, that is!! The only hotdog that Rose occasionally gets is one measly bite. No ketchup. Oh, and chocolate? Everybody knows how dangerous that human food is to canines!! So, I find this chart both strange, and alarming at once!! I do feed Rose cheese, however. She loves it!! ;op

  40. You got jipped!!! Oh dog you got on the scales and got handed that paper crap. You should have pissed on the scale maybe if you had gotten out the water you would have weighted less and then gotten the sack of treats. This so totally sounds like my luck.
Thanks for stopping by my blog

  41. The new header is great!

As for that chart - it is not great! Not at all. Seems like just some cheap marketing ploy or something. Cheese equals hamburgers and chocolate? Really? Ridiculous. Treats are very important and yummy too!
