We are BACK!

SHE came to get us today....
after replacing all the supposed-to-keep-the-furniture-clean
sheets, mats and towels down.

Not even water over the road stopped HER!
Actually,  it wasn't as bad as when SHE took us out there
8 days ago.
Debbie had us in CAGES in the Torture room,
but we didn't get a bath....just brushing and smelly stuff.
And we were carried to the car.

When we got home, we got these beef ribs.
Bought because of the 'long lasting' bit.
But we were back for more BEFORE
SHE even got the packet closed!

We were so happy to be home,
we checked out everything....
our smell was suspiciously absent
everything had been washed and cleaned.
We spent the day inside by the heater (winter seems to have returned)  sleeping.

It is so GREAT to be home--we'll have it smelling right soon.
(Going to be another cold, wet weekend.)

Post Op reflections.....

Just some photos of the bloomin' garden, so this won't be all words....

SHE is getting the knack of the eye drops and ointment.
Is enjoying the furniture without supposed-to-keep-coverings.
Enjoying having all the couch.

And is bored already.
Even short walks, without dogs constantly stopping;
television; reading; are not enough.
Can't believe there are still weeks to go.

The man next door arrived, cut and edged the lawn,
cutting it much shorter than SHE did the other day.
Don't know if he was just being kind,
or keeping his property value from decreasing.  Anyway, it's great to have good neighbours.
But SHE even misses new holes dug in the garden!

Raining this morning....again.
At least the pups are curled up in a warm kennel.
SHE knows it would be impossible to have them here--can't bend to put down water and food bowls; or get the kibble out of the bin; or clean muddy paws; or lift Dui up and down....he can't jump!
SHE completely identifies with recovering dogs in crates!

Update

SHE's home.  Cataract Op successful, so far.

Though comments like:

"If you drop that bit, it's impossible to pick up."
"Ooooooo, you've hit blood."

"good thing you don't take blood thinners, you'd be hemorrhageing now."
"don't worry we'll go to Plan B"

"We'll give you a mild sedative, so you won't feel this part."

"Why doesn't this pedal work?"  We need it working.....

"Where's my seat?  At this angle I'm in trouble" (the Dr. is in trouble?!)

Did not inspire confidence.

Good thing HER head was taped to the table at this point.

However, it went well.  Checked  today, and everything's okay.

New left eye can see distances and the Old right eye can read close ups....don't need the glasses at this point.

(Should point out that there were student doctors in the operating room.)

Dogs will stay at the kennels for a week, though.  Still can't bend over or lift heavy weights (Dui).

No Joy in Mudville

This was a Saturday photo.
You can see that our river is still very high.

But on Sunday the rain reappeared with a vengeance.
We only made quick business trips outside.
It poured all day.
We did get HER up at 5 a.m. on Monday to make
sure we got in a walk....and we got another one later.
And we did get to the river on Tuesday morning.
We do love each other, but we just love being with our friends.

This morning (Wednesday) we got HER up for another 5 a.m walk.
Good thing we did, because it started raining as soon as we got home!
BUT, that's not the worst news!
This afternoon we go to the kennel again for at least 8 days.
SHE is having a cat-something operation on HER eye
tomorrow at 7 a.m. and says that SHE can't do dog stuff for awhile.
(Good thing we've been training her to get up early.)
See you in October--we want to be back for Taco Day.

Friday

It was not a good start.
Do you see where I am?!
Wearing her Star Collar and Ernie loves Roxy tag.
However, I got a good report and had lost some weight
because SHE's been starving me.
Had my annual needles and I'm good to go for another year.

Then off to the nearby Sportsground
where inconsiderate people were playing sports.
So we continued north to the other
river walk and Sportsground.
We haven't been on this track for months, so there was lots to investigate.  Dui remembered the spot where we chased the fox, but there were none to chase.  We had to make do with the cockatoos, and magpies and ducks.
A pit stop isn't going to help you Dui.
When we got to the Soccer field, it was Game On.
We had it all to ourselves.
All to soon we heard 'Get in the Car'.

The Vet visit was forgotten.
This morning (Saturday)  we'll head to the muddy part of the river to play with our friends.)

Hope your weekend will be spectacular!

Rain...rain...

but it seems to have missed us this time.

Unfortunately some of the inhabitants down south have to put up with flooding.

Wordless--but noisy--Wednesday

Turn the volume up.  We thought you'd like to hear the kookaburras.
(Sorry about the wind noise.)

Monday Magpie Mischief....

(Apologies to Kismet.)
Close....

 Closer....
 Charge!
 I love chasing magpies!

(Those scotties are nosing around some trees.)

Soggy Saturday...

Heavy rain during the night.

You can see that the river is still high.
We stayed on the track, but water is water.....
(Dui prefers to walk around it.)

The river

is back within its bed...(leaving lots of great mud and puddles.)

This morning we found this interesting hole in the road.

Being Earth dogs, we were very interested in it.
Roxy was more interested in eating the grass.
One Earth dog, of course, disappeared down the hole.

SHE was going to help him out (after the requisite photo),
but he managed to scramble out by himself.

Some Spring...

After our HALF-day of Spring on Thursday,
the clouds came over and rained ALL night and
ALL of Friday.

We stayed indoors
(Except for poor Bella who had to have a bath and groom for her annual visit to the Vet.)

This morning we went to the river.

It flooded again--even more than last time.

But our friends were there!

Here is a short video of us
tormenting playing with Kelly on her truck.

Not supposed to rain again for a few days.  Paws crossed.
