Bella, Roxy and I have been taking long walks, and going to the river. They love it so much. It's only when we're home that they're subdued. Don't know if it's just my mood, but they do seem sad.
Bella stays close to me--closer than before. Could be because Daisy was the buffer between Roxy and her. But even Roxy is quieter.
This morning we went on a walk we haven't done since Kendra...the big circuit. The pictures weren't very good because the camera is acting up and it was only just daylight.
Over the big bridge. |
Another part of the sports grounds--Roxy annoying Bella |
Amazingly, FIVE kookaburras looking on. (the bridge we crossed in the background) |
Posing on our HER favourite portrait rock. |
Oh those tongues are hanging out.
ReplyDeleteThanks for being a friend
Sweet William The Scot
Well we been through that, and we found that the others know, and they have to have their recovery time also, but so glad you guys are back out doing you walkies and blogging.

Dear Bella Roxy and Miss T.,
ReplyDeleteThere were so many comments of Support beclaws YOU are always so WONDERFULLY Supportive of EVERYONE ELSE. You are such fabulous furends and WE simply wanted to lend our words of Comfort and Support. You are LOVED and we wanted you to KNOW THAT.
We have walked that rough road and we KNOW it is Easier if you have someone walking it with you.
FIVE Kookaburras all at the same time. THAT is COOL.
You certainly did take a LONG walk.. and you ended it so perfectly on your Portrait Rock.
HUGS TO ALL THREE OF YOU.
It is good that you are still getting out and trying to have a normal routine. I know after both my other dogs died, the surviver acted different for several weeks and then the new normal kicked in. Ditto to Frankie and Ernie's comment - Hugs
ReplyDeleteYou need another Scottie-preferably one that needs you and a good home.
ReplyDeleteWhen Charlotte died, all my other dogs grieved for several weeks. Adding Phoenix to the mix helped.

You are so right when you say it doesn't get any easier - we are still working on ours too. But time does heal the heart, and all the photos chronicling all the great memories of life with Daisy will help. Let the tears flow, they really do help with the healing.
ReplyDeleteWoos - Phantom, Ciara, and Lightning
It takes time, and you will get hit with rogue waves of grief for a long time. You have good friends here who will give you support. Praying for you
ReplyDeleteThe family dynamic has changed in a significant way. I'm sure the dogs pick up on your sadness and that they are experiencing the loss in their own way. You know from experience the ache lessens with time, but it never goes away. Love your dogs. They need you very much right now.

Time heals.....it just seems it moves slower at times of grief
ReplyDeleteWe are sending hugs and rottie kisses.
ReplyDeleteIt takes awhile to find a new normal. Looks like a great walk!
ReplyDeleteYour Pals,
Murphy and Stanley
That looks like a lovely walk and five kookaburras must have been very exciting :) Milo & Jet
ReplyDeleteIt is really tough and it really stinks.
ReplyDeleteGlad y'all were able to get in a nice long walk today.
It's good to hear from you. When we brought Fox home after being hit by the car, he looked through every room in the house for Ginger. He started to really ask us for a new friend a week later. It was tough. I agree with Kyla.
ReplyDeleteAlyssa, Mr. Fox & Scruffy
your pack has changed....bound to take a lot of time to adjust...take care all of you..xx
ReplyDeleteLong walks always help.
ReplyDeleteI hope you and the gals are adjusting to life without the wonderful Daisy. We are all here for you!
ReplyDeleteHugs and positive thoughts from a few of us Canucks.
It will take time to adjust. Sadly no it never gets any easier. Getting out is good for you all. You remain in our thoughts and prayers.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Molly
That looks like such a lovely walk, the exercise in the fresh air will do you all good. I think the dogs who are left do miss their companion, mine do.
ReplyDeleteHugs to you all

Howdy Mates, mum says when we hear of one of our friends losing a family member it brings back the feelings we experienced too and that is why we want to support and send love. Great walk and love the kookaburras. Five in a row is wonderful. Keep on walking with HER cause is does help somehow doesn't it. No worries, and love, Stella and Rory
ReplyDeleteMom heard someone speaking on the TV recently and he said that grief comes in waves. This couldn't be more true. Hugs to all of you ♥
ReplyDeleteLove ya lots♥
Mitch and Molly
A reminder that we should never underestimate how closely dogs bond with humans and other companions into a family pack.
ReplyDeleteFrom mom- I tear up constantly, I know the feeling. I miss Benny such it's nutty as he would say. I can't stop tearing up DAILY. The love and attention you give Bella and Roxy most likely contributes to their ok mood. Sending lots of hugs
ReplyDeleteMom and Lily
It seemed to take me forever to get over the loss of Shadow. I think we all handle it differently and at different speeds. No shame in that - it's to be expected. Hopefully it helps you to have our support and understanding. Hang in there - I'm sure Bella and Roxy are experiencing the loss of Daisy too. I am glad that you are getting out and about with them though - that's good for all of you. Hugs.
ReplyDeleteDear Her!!! Bless your heart no indeed it does not get easier. Each furbabe has their own personality which wins a piece of our hearts...thank goodness we humans have big hearts..'cause with each passing they take a tiny bit with them but OH THE memories they leave us with. Even after 37 years we still tell Toto the mighty mini Doxie stories. Lots of hugs and we enjoyed your walk today
ReplyDeleteMadi and Mom
I have had to go back to the beginning of your blog and reread about the "girls". I remember Kendra and how painful it was to loose her, read how Bella came to the pack, saw Roxy enter and all the happy times in between. I remember portrait rock and it was your blog header for awhile. Daisy is more than a pet, a Scottie, a dog...she is a world ambassador bringing our love together in one place. I know for a fact she swims in that beautiful river flowing under the Rainbow Bridge every day...and Kendra is watching her. <3
ReplyDeleteOh, that walkie looked FABulous! Looks like Roxy and Bella are burnin' off some energy! (Ma says yea!) It'll take time and lots of love and lots of tears, butts you will help each other though. {{{hugs}}}}
ReplyDeleteKisses,
Ruby ♥
I am so glad that you are gathering strength from your other pups and living life, thats what Daisy would want
ReplyDeleteretro rover
Oh dogs, y'all walk so bravely by the traffic. I hates traffic mom would have had to pull me the whole way. Good to see y'all out and about.
ReplyDeleteAroo to you,
Sully
We owe you and Daisy a big thank you. Because of you Morgan may have more time with us. I'll post about it today.
ReplyDeleteOURS momma read something that she will always remember. That when your heart hurts and you are missing your love it is their way of thumping their tail against that special place in your heart that belongs only to them.
ReplyDeleteWe understand just how you are feeling.

It doesn't get easier. It gets harder each time.
ReplyDeleteRun free in Heaven, dear Daisy.
The sweet girl. May she rest in peace and may you find the strength to heal after such a difficult loss. And no...it never gets any easier. Hugs to all. xoxox
