We'd like to say Happy Birthday to all the horses in the southern hemisphere!
Today is their official birthday.
We like to send out greetings to this special lady.
Black Caviar who retired from racing in April this year
after winning 25 straight races!
Yep, 25 starts, 25 wins.
She's (hopefully) going to have a career change and become a mother in September 2014.
Happy Birthday to all the horses! And good luck Black Caviar.
This is the only race horse whose name we know.
Happy Birthday Black Caviar and all the other horses and good luck with becomming a mother!

Happy birthday to all horses in the southern hemisphere.
ReplyDeleteIt's first Jan for us up here :-)
Horses are fun to bark at.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if I could beat Black Caviar in a race. I'd love to try!
Toodle pip!
Bertie.
Bravo to Black Caviar and we think it was wise to end her career on a high. Here in the UK it is the 1st Jan. Happy birthday to all horses down under. Have a tremendous Thursday.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Molly
What a lovely horse! I had no idea horses Downunder had a special day. I'm going to have to check if US horses do!
ReplyDeleteEvery race horse here adds a year to the age on January 1. All the runners in the Kentucky Derby were 2 on Dec 31 and 3 on Jan 1. Breeders try to time it so a horse is born just after Jan 1 so that when they're 3 they're old for their age (it sounds funny but it works if you think about it).
DeleteWe are sending our birthday wishes too! We have a horse neighbour named Chilly (maybe spelled Chilli?) and the pack all love to greet him.
ReplyDeleteShe is a beautiful horse. And we bet you know the name of Pharlap and Gunsin....two of Aussies most famous horses
ReplyDeleteHappy horse day! We will say happy birthday to our neighbour horses just in case it is their birthdays too! Lee and Phod
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to all horses and Happy Yorkshire Day too BOL. Black Caviar is a beautiful horse - hope she enjoys her retirement - becoming a mother is hard work but maybe not as tiring as racing! Woofs and licks from Magic xx
ReplyDeleteMomz says she never did understand the thing about all horses having the same birthday, but what the heck...Happy Birthday Horses and good luck to Black Caviar
ReplyDelete25 for 25 is very impressive, especially for a mare!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to Black Caviar and all the other horses there. That is a great day to be celebrating. We have never met a horse up close and pawsonal, but Mom isn't so sure we are all ready for that.
ReplyDeleteWoos - Phantom, Ciara, and Lightning
