The Regatta


G'Day everyone.... reporting from Australia.

 Remember the Camel Races last month?
Well, tomorrow is the annual Henley-on-Todd Regatta.
It is a Rotary Club fund raiser held on the Todd River near
 Alice Springs based on the  Henley Royal Regatta in England.

The difference is the Todd River is usually dry, so the boats are slightly modified.  BOL!  It's a day of many and varied events.
Such as.....

The Oxford Tubs

Kayak races

The Mixed Maxi Yachts

Boogie Boards

Homemade boats.
And the finale is the Battle of the Boats!
One year the event had to be cancelled!
  It rained and the river was wet!

    I won't be able to watch the boat races with a straight face anymore!

    Howdy Girls, we know about that race too. Our sissy goes through Alice heaps for her work on the Ghan. She says if you have seen the Todd River flowing it means you are a local hehehe. She has only seen it running once. Have a great weekend. No worries, and love, Stella and Rory
