WE'RE AT WAR!
For the past two days, we've been scratching and scratching. When SHE checked us. SHE found fleas!
This is me, Daisy since you can't tell us apart, scratching.
We've been in drought for so long; it's usually hot and dry. So we have NEVER had fleas before. When SHE lived in Sydney a hundred years ago where it's hot and humid, it was a constant battle: an endless cycle of bathing dogs, washing bedding, flea wash, flea spray, cortisone needles, you name it!
It's all this rain we've been having, and cats.
Today, SHE went out to arm herself with flea shampoo, Frontline and Capstar. Luckily, the first stop was our vet's office, where SHE was presented with these very expensive chewable tablets that are supposed to do EVERYTHING!
For a... whole... month!
Have any of you tried them? SHE'S a bit sceptical.
We had our tablets, wrapped in cheese, with dinner a few minutes ago.
(Hope it works, those little bugs are extremely annoying.)
Nasty little bleeders they are!!!I've not seen that stuff, but I know you need to break the cycle, as they jump off hide and jump back on!!!If this stuff works but then your mom fines shes getting bit might need something to put on the carpet to kill them.

fleasssssssssssssssss? runnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn as fast as your little furry toes can carry you. Them fleas can't run or fly fast enuff :)
ReplyDeleteWe never have those tabs before.. but we are on frontline :) and a good shampoo helps :) All the best!
We're tried Comfortis, but mom likes Frontline or Advantage better. For one thing they're not as many green papers! Fleas are a constant problem where we live, so we always have to be prepared!
ReplyDeleteI haven't tried those tabs either- I get frontline but would much prefer eating something than that silly liquid stuff they put on me that drys my skin out!
ReplyDeleteWe've never tried that. Wonder if we have it here. We are using Advantix which our humans find effective.
ReplyDeleteYou had BUGS??? YUCK. Sorry girrrls.
ReplyDeleteNow THIS spring summer and fall... I took Comfortis. It works grrrreat... butt only for FLEAS. It does not keep... TICKS ... SHIVER SHIVER WHINE... away. So mom is going back to my other stuff next spring.
Butt I don't think you have TICKS... SHIVER.. downunder so you should be just fine with Comfortis.
We have Frontline every month to keep those nasty bugs away. It works great for us :o)

Sorry about the fleas girls. You three must be so uncomfortable.
ReplyDeleteWe use Revolution for 6 months of the year. It covers fleas, ticks & heartworms + some other stuffs. Mom just squirts it on our backs every month.
Love Ruby & Penny
Oh girls! I'm so sorry to hear this! Me? I'm on Frontline. Seems to be fine. I put it on my back, BUT then I also put some under my armpits - where I can't lick.
ReplyDeleteActually, you know I don't put it on. They do. I can't reach all those places.
Hope you feel better soon. Fleas. Nasty. Ticks. Nasty.
Aarroooo! Stuart
miss daisy!
ReplyDeleteeeeek! i'm sorry those stoopid fleas followed you home! me 'n asa use frontline every month, and we have not had any problems. but my mama said that back when her angel doggie whitney was a young lady, they moved from north dakota to alabama, and poor whitney had a total flea takeover. whitney had to get shaved 'n dipped a few times, as well as startin' the frontline. the worst part was that mama and whitney had to leave the house for 24 hrs cuz they had to BOMB it to kill the pesky flea goobers that were hidin' inside.
hope you get all those fleas ASAP!
*woof*
the booker man
We use Frontline. I hate fleas!! I've never heard of that kind. I hope you get rid of those horrible things...we had a breakout of them a few years ago and it was a horrible battle getting rid of them in the house. Lots of love, Holly and mom
ReplyDeleteWe have never had fleas before but our mom knows that it's a real battle to get rid of them! We hope you win the battle soon!
ReplyDeleteLove ya lots
Maggie and Mitch
Luckily I have never had fleas. I hope those little buggers leave you all alone soon. They must love beautiful ladies!
ReplyDeleteNubbin wiggles,
Oskar
Oh, I am so very much sorry abouts those icky flea things. Most luckily, we don't gets fleas here in Collie-rado. We live in what's called a "high desert" so it's really dry here. But my mom has had furends and family that use Comfortis and really like it. I hopes your buggies skedaddle soon!
ReplyDeleteWiggles & Wags,
mayzie
Fleas Navidad! Haha
ReplyDeleteWe have never heard of the "all in one pill". We like the frontline stuff. We have to watch out for ticks here too. Woodland creatures have ticks!
Wyatt and Stanzie
I'm a new follower! My little Chuy the Chihuahua has fleas for the first time. He has reacted to EVERY medication out there. Let me know how this works. I need something that his little 7lb body can handle!
ReplyDeleteDis is not good news. :( Mom has never heard of dat pill, her puts Advantix on me once a month and so far so good. I sure hopes what ever you do it works, fleas is not fun!
ReplyDeleteWoofs and Licks,
Maggie Mae
PeeS Wyatt is funny!
We'd never heard of that brand, either. We use Advantix, which is very effective at controlling fleas & the larger ticks. Not as effective for the small deer ticks. It's a monthly liquid. Then we get Heartgard every month for the other stuffs. In mama's vast experience over many decades with fleas: if they've infested the house you may need to bomb. You can eventually kill them all just with the chemicals on you, but it will take a very long time and there will be a lot of unnecessary re-infestation. And, of course, as you'll be protected by the Comfortis, the fleas will go after the unprotected humans for their meals.
ReplyDeleteGood luck, ladies!
Jed & Abby
We dont like those little pests.
ReplyDeleteGoodness. We've never seen or heard of flea tablets. Do please let us know if they work. We use Frontline but it doesn't deal with all ticks. Wilf is allergic to a component in Advantix which is probably the best all round treatment.
ReplyDeleteYikes, that is just horrible. We have never had them
