It's getting warmer now. So we've been going to the river for our morning walk--before snakes start moving, and gets too warm for us. We love the river. Bella chased a cyclist this morning. She ignored one that passed her, then she was held while another went by and as soon as she was let loose, she took off after it. Then I chased her. So we were at the river way before Kendra.
I went for a paddle. SHE did take videos; but they didn't come out very well. I don't get in deep enough for a real swim, but I like the cool water. Bella sometimes puts her front feet in. She prefers chasing the ducks.
We explored.
And sniffed for ages.
There are lots of old Red Gums by the river. They make wonderful nesting places for parrots and other birds. This morning it was very quiet, all you could hear were birds: Cockatoos, Kookaburras, Willy-Wagtails, pigeons, galahs, grass parrots, Eastern rosellas.......just loads.
This group of Cockatoos was making quite a racket. We didn't see any kangaroos; but there WAS kangaroo poo. We also saw a ball of fur with mouse tail and feet; so we knew a snake had been there sometime, too.
All too soon, it was time to go. So back along the cycle way we went back to the car. We love those walks.
"Kookaburra sits in the old gum tree..."
