Seasonal Changes

Recently it has become VERY dark for our morning walk.  Seems like only a few weeks ago we were going out just before 6 am when it started to get light.  Now, it's nearly seven.  It's much cooler, too.  The cicadas are gone and Bella hasn't found a frog at night to terrorise in over a week.
We don't have to keep the house closed up during the day to keep out the heat and the air conditioner has been off.
Though our walks are later, they have been longer!
The other day, we found this leaf......

Autumn has arrived.
However, our Magnolia is confused.  For some reason it blossomed again and grew new leaves.  Usually it is the one tree that lets us know when Spring is arriving.  Crazy!

We just love the changes. Autumn in Australia is a scottie season.

Our Koala Stuffie

We got a new stuffie the other day.  It's a Koala made out of lamb's wool with tummy squeaker, rope arms and legs.
I, Daisy, got it first and we had a game of chasies and Tug-o-war.  Kendra managed to get the squeaker  going when she got it.
Then Bella ran off with it.
Bet you've guessed!  Yes, we haven't seen it since.

We did have a scout around the garden.  Looked in all Bella's usual hiding places.  Couldn't find it!

However,

We managed to find these two: Blue Bug and ZuZu pet....
that have been MIA since late December!
We've had a few rain storms and think they've been uncovered by  the water.

The ZuZu pet STILL works!

300 and ONE Year!

Today is our 300th post!  And our ONE YEAR anniversary of Blogging!!!!!

Kendra                                 Bella                         Daisy
It's hard to believe that we've managed to post 300 times plus blogged a whole year.
And what a year it's been.
We've met sooooooo many friends worldwide,
participated in  heaps of events, got more Christmas cards than our human  and have just had a fantastic year!
We've learned so much about other dog breeds and those wonderful people who open their hearts to help rescue pups in sad situations.  It's made us more aware of pups in our local shelter.
Our very first comment was from Sue and the porties.  If you haven't met them, you are missing out! Thanks Sue!
The Rocky Creek Scotties put out a heads up to let readers know about us. Another group you should meet.
But it was our friend Stuart who started it all.  We read his Chronicles first and decided maybe we could do it too.
(So if you have any complaints about us, they're the ones.....)

To all of you who read about us AND especially those who leave comments......a HUGE Thanks!
We wish you could all be here to celebrate with us.

We're just sorry we let Bella choose the cake!!!

Mail and a Date!

Last week, we got mail,  yes we are very late posting.  It was from Oskar--this great sign to keep us safe in case of fire.  We put it up on our door.  SHE had to clean the inside window before SHE could put it up; but has obviously not done the outdoor side yet.
Oskar also included this beautiful Valentine's card with his handsome self on it!
Now we thought it was sweet of him to send us the card, BUT we think it was really for Bella.
BECAUSE,
on his blog, he professed his love for her AND asked her out on a date!
Bella is sooooooo excited.  She's been groomed--no more fuzzy ears and banana tail.
She's been trying on various bandannas for the big date and has decided to go with this one........
Made, and sent to us by The Rocky Creek Scotties: Lilly, Piper, Carrleigh and Ruairi! (Thanks)
The date is for this coming weekend!  So come back next week to hear all about it!

Look very carefully at the picture.
(Note:  The cat in the WW post yesterday, was spotted along the cycleway--a place we sometimes go lead free.  Now it has been added to the KCAs (Known Cat Areas) so looks like we won't be running free there in future.)  Oh, we were finally dragged away.........sigh.

Saturday Walk

This morning we headed to Sandy Beach along this path that we haven't been on since the flood in December.

Have you noticed that we AREN'T on leads?  We didn't have to wear them the whole time!
See Bella's banana tail, that means a grooming session coming up.

There were LOTS of interesting things to investigate!

When we got to Sandy Beach, the Dragon Boat rowers were leaving for a practice.  If you look VERY closely, you'll see me, Daisy, in the water helping them start off.
However, there were much more interesting things along, and in the water.
Bella (banana tail) in foreground and Daisy in back.
We watched them go down the river.
Then got back to business.  We zoomed around through the gooey mud and sand.  Paddled in the water.  Chased rocks that were mysteriously falling into the water.

We stayed for a long time, then walked back to the car.
Little did we know, it turned out to be BATH DAY! (No pictures because someone didn't check the battery.)
We know it was BATH DAY and not just because we were messy because Kendra had to have a bath, too, and she only went on the early morning walk and wasn't dirty.
(Note:  How can dogs play in water for ages and not enjoy a bath?)
