Our Weekend

We hope you had a fantastic weekend.  We did.
The temperatures were lower so we were able to be outside most of the day.

Saturday morning we went to the Devil's Elbow, as usual.
Hurry up, the others might already be there!
We always walk the loop so SHE gets some exercise, too.
 It was a beautiful day.
Flash, Buddy, Roxy, Daisy and Bella
 A new girl came.  She's a 4 month old Kelpie/Border Collie mix.
She was a bit nervous at first.....probably because eight of us mobbed her when she arrived.
Flash, Roxy, Kelly and Pi (her dad's a mathematics teacher)
Roxy became so excited that she had to sit quietly on the lead for  awhile...BOL!
Soon, Pi was racing around with everyone.
Sunday morning we went to the other part of the river.  We hadn't been there since the hot weather--snake season--began.

The sun was just coming up and everything had that beautiful morning light.

We looked for the 'roos, but they weren't out, or at least we couldn't see them.
Then we walked down to 'our beach'.
We haven't been there since last November.
We checked it all out.  There isn't much beach because the river has been high.
That's so the farmers can take water out to irrigate their crops.
We walked up to the Sports Ground for a run but Someone forgot to recharge the camera battery so there are no pictures.
We didn't get a long run because Someone noticed one of our leads was missing.  We found it back on our beach.

This morning we went to see the sheep.  We wondered if there might be another lamb, but on closer inspection,
we think the others are wethers (castrated rams.)

After our long walk around the 'hood, we had another run at the Sports Ground.
Then we came home and slept through the Superbowl.
Even Bella was too tired to watch it.

  2. Snake season? Oh dear.
Lovely to get out and about and visit your old haunts. Cooler weather is on its way. Surely the worst of the summer is behind you.

  10. Sigh - It makes our Mom so homesick to see your photos.....she says she can almost smell the eucalyptus and hear all the birds and she misses the 'real' blue skies. You have found the bestest place to go for walkies!

  17. Looks like you had a great time! Just curious, do you see wild kangaroos out on your wanders? That'd be something! Here, we have lots of deer, moose, coyotes, that type of thing.

I like hearing about how words mean different things, for instance, I'm still using the doona that Breeze pulled apart.

  21. You had a great walk! I've never seen a snake or a roo, I think I would be scared of snakes!
It's nice to get back to normal, isn't it? The mornings are getting lighter up here, which means spring is coming!
Except it's going to snow on Wednesday.
    Have a great day,
    Pip :)
P.S. We like Pi, his second name should be 3.14, and his birthday should be on Pi day - 14th of March!
