This morning we walked by the High School Ag (agriculture) plot. We mentioned before that agriculture is a subject in Australian High Schools.
The horses were gone.
We think they are only there in the Spring Term.
But we found these:
They stared at us!
The one on the left got a crappy shearer. |
And we stared back.
Roxy and Daisy in a staring competition. |
But look at that sheep in the back!
She's got a puppy!
LOL. I couldn't help laugh when you mentioned about the sheep having a puppy!
ReplyDeleteNice one, guys. It's interesting how you have agriculture in HS. I think our country should have that as part of the HS curriculum.
Huggies and Cheese,
Haopee

Puddles
What a cute little puppy! I don't know if those are meat or wool sheep, but I have spun yarn from Australian wool and your country produces some very nice wool. I've meant to tell you we celebrated Australia Day at the San Diego Zoo where I work. Here are the opening lines of the press release that was sent:
ReplyDeleteWhile it might be Jan. 25 in San Diego, it's Australia Day, Jan. 26, "down under." To celebrate, the San Diego Zoo today announced the launch of Koala Cam, giving online viewers a chance to observe the daily happenings of these marsupials in their exhibit.
Koala Cam will broadcast the activities of four Queensland koalas: Orana, daughters Sooky and Nariah, and a joey in Nariah's pouch, which was born on July 15, 2012. Koala joeys emerge from their mother's pouch between six and seven months old. Koala Cam viewers should log in often as they will have the unique opportunity to watch for the joey peeking out from Nariah's pouch, grow and be cared for by its mother, just as people worldwide continue to watch the Zoo's panda mother care for her cub on the Zoo's Panda Cam.
There is a link to the Koala Cam at the Zoo's new site www.sandiegozoo.org/koalafornia/, which introduces the Conrad Prebys Australian Outback exhibit, opening at the Zoo on May 24, 2013.
So that's where Bedlington terriers come from.

We think students in the US need to take agriculture as a subject. Some kids don't even know veggies grow in the ground. Can you imagine?

What a great walk! Sometimes on our leash walks we go past the cow pastures (we live on the edge of a small town) and the cows stare at us. Sure gets the blind girls sniffing lots!
