Many of you have commented about seeing our floods and the devastation on the News. We're happy for the concern shown. We did have a flood and a few businesses were affected. Our river is still high and muddy; but it is within its banks. The real damage is way to the north of us, and as that water makes its way through our state, it will affect towns to the west of us. So we're pretty safe here--we hope even the snakes are back in their rightful places. But the crazy thing is.......

We NEED rain--would ya believe! Even with the high river, our garden is drying out. Everyone is watering again! We keep getting clouds, but the rain goes around us. We don't want lots of rain, just a couple of hours of steady, gentle rain every week or so would be good. Seems strange, but there you go!
All the floods and the grass is still dried out? gosh! the weather is very strange over your end. Our garden is still yucky mucky with lotta worms... i like the picture of you.. with the.. Me, Daisy :D

Sounds like Texas. Crazy weather here too. I hope you guys get some rain, but not too much!
ReplyDeleteGlad you all are safe!
ReplyDeleteHope you get a bit of rain for your garden soon.
that is the way it is here in Texas...flooding in one area...drought in another....I'm really enjoying your blog...
ReplyDeleteYes, we could never understand the weather too. It could be raining in some places and in others, very hot sun. Hope you get the little bit rain that you needed.
ReplyDeleteMy furend Barney Baker who is also in NSW lives along a river and he says it is still up too. Butt he says it is very humid and he isn't used to that. I am very much glad that you girrrrls are safe from the floods... and snakes.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad to hear that you're safe and not affected by the floods. Maybe you'll get a little bit of rain to help your garden out!
ReplyDeleteWe are very glad to hear you aren't affected by those horrible floods we saw on the news. We don't understand it either but last summer it seemed to rain a lot but it was constantly dry. The rivers were up at times but still everything needed to be watered more. It is strange. Glad the snakes are back where they belong. Lots of love, Holly and mom
ReplyDeleteThe floods have been the lead story on the BBC news ... again. Was it this time last year we were talking about a drought, wheat shortages and forest fires around Canberra ?
ReplyDeleteSounds like southern California. Glad you're out of harm's way!
ReplyDeleteWell this is good news. About your being OK and all. But not that you need rain! I'll do a little dance for you guys...see if that works.

Hi girls - we're sure glad that you're not floating off somewhere! But how odd that you still need rain - we hope you get a gentle drizzle - but that's ALL! Schnauzer snuggles - JD and Max.
ReplyDeleteVery odd, indeed! I am happy that you are all safe, but sorry for those who were badly affected by the flooding!

We always wish for the rain to happen at night while we're sleeping so it doesn't ruin our fun days!
ReplyDeleteLove ya lots

We're also glad the flooding is not having a devastating impact where you live. Better to have to water a little than row a lot. Hope all this crazy weather world wide isn't the new normal.
