This morning I found this little bird between the shed and fence. I just stood still and watched it. It moved closer......and closer.
We think it fell out of this nest.
I stayed very still and just watched it. Then in a flash, that Bella WALKED OVER me, SMUSHED me down into the fencing wire, GRABBED my bird and MURDERED it!
Oooh - poor birdie. Duncan and Hamish think that anything that moves is fair game. They've "murdered" rabbits, birds, crickets, stink bugs (ugh) and any other little creature that makes the mistake of coming into our yard. Judie, Duncan & Hamish
Oh no! You were being completely respectful and kind to your bird and then Bella came along and ruined your friendship forever! How awful! Don't forget to add your URL to our THANKFUL FUR 3 THURSDAY BLOG HOP and to also meet 3 of our newest furiends!
ANOTHER baby bird??? Does that mean that your blog is... going to the Birds??? hehehe Sorry Bella killed your Furend. I LOVED murdering my Mole... butt he was not a furend to ANYBODY. Well, the good news is that she did it QUICK and that is how it should be.
We are so sorry about the bird! RIP little bird. We have had our share of bird fatalities here including a frog fatality (after mom got it out of my burning mouth and threw it a mile away) and today for the first time we saw a squirrel in our back yard! No murders happened though because that squirrel really could run fast! Lots of love, Holly and mom
Um, sorry abouts the whole, you know, "incident." But I'm with Maggie and Mitch. I bet Bella could tell that that birdie was up to no good the way it was getting so close to you. You should prolly thank her for saving your life.
Hi Daisy aand all, Poor Daisy!!! You were being so good!! I am proud of you Daisy. Not proud of Bella though!! You know me, I love the little critters!! We have missed you so much. XXOO, Bambi & Fern
Hehehehehe...I don't means to laughs but it's kinda funny dat her murdered it. I mean her prolly shouldn't haves taken it from ya but you know hows sissy's can be.
Murdered or swallowed ?
ReplyDeleteUm...oh dear. We chase the grown ones, but we really don't know what we'd do if we caught one. I know that Blog Mom wouldn't cook it for us.

Oh, I'm so sorry about the bird! You probably just wanted to take care of it, hugh?
ReplyDeleteOur German Shepherd used to attack and eat anything that moved in the yard, so I know how frustrating that could be!
