Happy May Day!
It's May! Weather was beautiful today. First we went for a very long walk ....only marred by two cats. Then Bella and I went to the Farmer's Market again for her 'people lessons'. I went as a good example, but that ended when I spied some chickens in a cage. I've never been up close and personal with a chicken and I still haven't. I wasn't allowed to go near them. There was lots of action. And the smells! Eggs, bacon, steak and onions, pancakes...... We met lots of dogs. A Jack Russells' human gave us treats. Other people said how beautiful we are--we're used to that. Then the man at the Dog Treat stall gave us a long, beef chew free to go with our bag of Roo Chews. We walked around the whole area. Bella did reasonably well. (I couldn't get those chooks out of my mind!) Alpha was able to do some cheese tasting (bet she won't share that) and buy other stuff . Afterwards we got another little walk along the river. The smell of treats in the car going home had our mouths watering. Bella kept trying to get the beef chew! We had to wait to share it with Kendra. Before we divided the beef stick, we had this picture taken. It took so long because Kendra kept trying to get it.
Finally we got the picture, divided the stick and each found a place to chew. Kendra inhaled hers, as usual, and prowled around to get ours. She can't intimidate me, but Alpha has to stay around Bella to ensure Bella gets her food or treat.
Then Bella went inside and pulled the Roo Chews off the table. She couldn't get into the net bag though.
We have to wait to have one of those.
We hope you have a beautiful May Day, too.
happy may day to you ladies, too!!
ReplyDeletethat beef stick sounds super duper tasty...and i bet bella wishes she had thumbs to get that bag open.

Happy May day! Your trip to the farmer's market sounded like so much fun to us. We've never been close to chickens either but we hear they're very tasty!
ReplyDeleteLove ya lots,

Hello!
ReplyDeleteI could picture you wandering around at the Farmer's Market and since you all are so cute and curious you must've been the star attraction there! I would've given you lots of treats and I would've given you lots and lots of nice long pets, for sure!
I read your comment regarding my "Fear of Flying" post and I agree that "Titanic" was another scary movie that I cannot get off my mind as well! Perhaps that's one reason why I've never been on a cruise...hmmmm....
If you haven't visited my blog lately, I hope you do because I just started my 2nd contest called the Floppy Eared Caption Contest!
What fun you had at the farmers market!!! You could have scared those chickens half to death!!
ReplyDeleteIt would have been fun!!
Tom is suppose to being taking at easy, but he works for a living everyday and when he comes home he works some more!!
May day, we both were lazy. Didn't do any work!!
We had a good one and I hope you and yours did too!!!
XXOO, Fern
Hi - the farmers market sounds wonderful and what a brilliant training idea too! We're not at all surprised the stall holder gave you a free beef stick, when faced with such beauty he was obviously putty in your paws! Schnauzer snuggles - JD and Max.
