Communication
Like the other night. I just wanted to sit at the front gate for awhile. The carport door was closed, so I went to Alpha. I did the jumping around bit, did a few woh-woh-wohs and aaaarooos to get her up. Took awhile. I got her to the back door, but when she saw that it was open, she went back to her chair. I went through the whole charade again. She didn't move. Next, I tried mental telepathy. I just stared and stared at her. That didn't really work; but she did realise I needed something and got up. I led her to the carport door and pushed my nose against it several times. Finally, she caught on--yeesh! Sometimes I have doubts about her intelligence.

We know exactly how you feel!! Yesterday Lilly did something she shouldn't do in the house only because Mom was yakking and not paying any attention to her. What is it with our peeps?

Woooos! I completely understand, humans are not too bright and they seem to have the most difficulty understanding simple dog language, after all we can learn theirs, I think they don't try very hard!

You just have to be persistant. All two leggers are a wittle slow on the uptake. It comes with the territory of owning one.

Hiya Daisy - this was such a helpful post about training humans, thank you SO much! We sometimes think ours are so slow it's not possible to train them AT ALL, but you have proved that we simply need to persevere and have patience. Schnauzer snuggles - JD and Max.
