Flashback Friday...

The story of me, Roxy.

.
SHE has almost ALWAYS had scotties.
Had one slight break with an Irish Wolfhound and a Deerhound X.

A couple of years ago after getting tired of pulling burrs out of scottie coats,
SHE decided that HER next dog would be a short haired dog.
SHE'd always loved English Bull Terriers so began researching the breed.
SHE googled for many months to see if a Bull Terrier
would fit in with HER lifestyle, what diseases/conditions the breed might have....
and the cost of buying one.

While searching for Breeders and checking ads to find puppy mills.
SHE found this puppy.
Roo.

Roo was advertised on an adoption list.  She was a Bull Terrier Rhodesian Ridgeback X.
SHE always looked for Roo when looking at the adoption site.
BUT then SHE saw Roo's sister.......
Roxy.

There was something about that little face that SHE just fell in love with immediately.

SHE watched the ads for several weeks, and both Roxy and Roo were still without homes.
About the same time, two bloggers, Mayzie and Brudder Ranger were having an event encouraging bloggers to post about animals up for adoption in hopes of finding homes for some of them.

SHE sent an e-mail to Roo and Roxy's Foster Mother.....and well......I, Roxy, found a home.
SHE and Daisy travelled two hours south,
and I and my Foster Mother travelled two hours north
and met in a park.

Daisy approved of me, and SHE loved me, so we came home.
I was a bit scared at first.
 Bella kept following me around.
Then I became one of the pack....even though I looked a bit different.  (People always comment on it.)
Funny, young men LOVE me and ignore the scotties, women tend to love the scotties.

Our pack has changed over time.....I'm much bigger than Bella.  Both Kendra and Daisy are
over the Bridge and we've added Dui.  But it's still our pack.

Oh, and Roo found a home with a forever family in Sydney.

  3. Crikey Roxy ..... how good is that?? Mum looked at the ad for me for 4 weeks before she gave in and looked me over. She wanted a puppy not a 6 month old bloke like me. One look at me though and she was gone. Just like your Mum, aye?? We were meant to be, aye?? My Mum loves English Bullies. Her Dad used to breed 'em. Them and WFT's .... poles apart .... I know. You sure were a cute puppy, aye?? Was it you that came from Narrandera, Roxy?? We met a rescue lady down there. It might have been YOUR rescue lady, aye?? Mum a Dad wanted someone to look after me for the day and they were told of a lady that might do it. She was nice but Mum wouldn't leave me. I was very new at that stage and paranoid about being left alone. I'm still paranoid. It was good to hear your story, Roxy. I think your sexy!! Crikey don't tell Ernie or Enid I said that, aye??
