Sunday morning, after our river romp with our friends, all the Dog people went to a small village way out in the bush. (All dogs abandoned.)
It was a gorgeous day....warm and sunny.... so they went to a pub for lunch and sat outside.
A few years ago the village painted murals on the buildings.
These were on the pub.
This one is starting to peel. |
Then they moved on to a small distillery.....sort of a shed affair....to taste infused Vodkas, Rum, Whisky and Quandong (native peach) liqueur.
SHE's a wino, so only tried the liqueur...which is VERY good.
BUT, the main attraction
was this little guy.
He welcomed everyone to HIS distillery, and kept everyone entertained.
He was very hard to photograph....expert at dodging the camera.
There was a portrait of him.
And his name?
FRANKIE!
OMD. He looks just like OUR Frankie too (just with a bit less fur)! Maybe long lost twin brothers?!
ReplyDeleteNo WAY!! Hi Frankie!! What a fun day SHE had!
ReplyDelete-Ruby and Otto
WHAT??????? There is ANOTHER Frankie that is a Dachshund???
ReplyDeleteWe are stunned.... We are GLAD your mum got to MEET THAT Frankie.... just like she did with my Brother Frankie... OH and to meet ME (ERNIE) in the furs...
BUTT ROXY.... I (YOUR ERNIE) am not one bit happy about HER leaving you home. THAT is NOT RIGHT... You will need to PUNISH her... Think SHOES..... one you can CHEWS EASILY and then.... DESTROY!!! That'll teach HER.
Howdy Mates. Glad your mum had fun. Who would have thunk it hey, another Frankie. Way too cute. No worries, and love, Stella and Rory

That looks like a very cool place to go. Mom is a wine person too, none of that hard stuff. We wonder if THAT Frankie is a long lost cousin to Blogville's Frankie:)
ReplyDeleteWoos - Ciara and Lightning
What are longhorns doing in Oz?
ReplyDeleteI'm glad SHE had fun -- I think Frankie needs to meet Frankie! :-)
ReplyDeleteWow, that has to be the perfect job, to be a Distillery Dog in charge of meet and greets. I hope some of the Dog people were able to slip him a treat or two?
ReplyDeleteToodle pip!
Bertie (whose human also sometimes abandons him to go out with her dog walking friends, or, as they like to be known, the Duthie Park Dog Walking Dames…)
Our Frankie got a haircut? The murals are wonderful!
ReplyDeleteLove ya lots♥
Mitch and Molly
Crikey ...... I'm glad SHE got to meet the Frankie look alike but I just can't seem to get passed the (all dogs abandoned) bit. What was SHE thinkin'?? How could SHE?????
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun day...(I'm sorry the pups couldn't go) for the peeps. Every so often we have to let them recharge their batteries and mingle w/o us.
ReplyDeleteANOTHER FRANKIE at a distillery..I suspect it was Puddles disguised as a Frankie?
Hugs madi your bfff
Hey HER!
ReplyDeleteWow, looks like you had a fabulous time, even without your pooches! Those paintings are really great and I can't believe you got to see another Frankie. Did he know you call you HER or SHE and did he know Bella, Roxy and Dui? That's so fun! My peeps are drooling for that peachie drinkie. BOL
Grr and Woof,
Sarge, Canine Furiend
What gorgeous murals. Frankie looks like such a little character - I love his portrait!
ReplyDeleteDip and Elliot x
He is too cute, him Frankie :)
ReplyDeleteLaika & Vaks.
So cute. I've always liked doxies
ReplyDeleteA Frankie in Oz was he a Frankfurter Würstel Frankfurter Würstchen Frankfurter Rindswurst Hot dog? How cute! Now Lee says the peach liqueur sounds to her liking also. Lee is not a wino and only imbibes on very special occasions.
ReplyDeleteWe love the murals and a small village out in the bush sounds like something we would love to do.
Thanks for being a friend
Sweet William The Scot
What a cutie. We used to go to a winery that had a really fat Corgi who greeted everyone. We think a few too many people slipped him treats.
ReplyDeleteWOW! Another Frankie! Stinks that you girls didn't get to meet him in the flesh... Sticks a LOT.
