Bertie's Darwin-lite Award

We are joining Bertie's Darwin-lite Award......showing that our peeps are not necessarily the most intelligent of the species.

Sorry there are no pictures......luckily, not even a mug shot.

First of all you need to understand that SHE does everything at top speed which occasionally leads to strife.
Also, SHE is not a good sleeper.

One morning, as SHE was rushing around, SHE took a Stilnox (Ambien, Zolpidem) tablet in place of a vitamin.

Driving to work as the tablet took effect... SHE remembers thinking...Go to Mr Bean and get coffee.
Turning a corner, SHE managed to hit the kerb quite hard, not only flattening the tyre, but buckling the wheel hub as well.
SHE remembers thinking.....Go to Mr Bean and Go to Max's to get the tyre repaired.

SHE also remembers getting the coffee and some men pointing to the tyre as SHE drove off.
SHE also remembers all the taxi drivers at the taxi rank pointing at her tyre.
SHE remembers waving to them and yelling
'It's okay, Max will fix it!"

SHE next remembers  an hour or so later , photocopying, when Max's wife arrived to see how SHE was.
SHE thought SHE'd managed quite well, but was told that the other workers were wide-eyed and looking worried!

Eventually, the drug wore off and it that should have been the end of the story.
However, early the next morning, SHE ran into a friend who asked if SHE'd had the tyre repaired.
SHE thought, this is a small town, but how did she find out.
SHE was told, "I was in the coffee shop when you came in saying you'd just hit something.....probably a small child on a bike....
(line from Steel Magnolias.)
SHE was appalled and said SHE was so happy that the group of police&detectives who were usually in the shop weren't there that morning.  But was told:
Yes, they were, they were pointing at your tyre!
 *  *  *  *

We could also tell you about the time SHE went half-way around the world, changing planes twice, with mismatched shoes.......but.....
(Just want you to understand why it takes THREE of us to keep HER in line.)

  12. Stunning entry. Gosh I am gathering so much interesting material on human frailty. This is such a fascinating area of research. I am wondering if Blogville's Moms (and Dads) are a representative sample of humanity....?

Thank goodness as the say all is well that ends well.

My human sis had a neighbor who took an Ambien one late one morning after getting home from his 3rd shift job, got out of bed in a complete altered state, unlocked the door, walked up and down the street Neekid!!!
Sis and her hubby went home to lunch to find the police all over the street trying to corral the man. No one knew him or where he lived.

  17. I see that you do have your paws full with SHE. I am glad that the tire was the only thing hurt. May be SHE should see about more help for you 3. Sounds like you could use extra paws to keep SHE out of trouble.

  22. I am just learning about taking care of my Mommy, but thank you for letting me know what I will have to look out for. This human care is quite a job, but I will take it on and give all I have got.

  23. Mom forgot to put her glasses on the other morning. She was fumbling around making our breakfasts but she didn't manage to poison any of us. And don't ask her to do anything before her coffee.

  24. I remember the two color sandals but had never heard the full story about the Ambien. Loopy can feel good sometimes like when anesthesia is setting in right before surgery but not good when driving. A dog should have stepped up and driven her to work ~ why I am sure some dog could do that.
    Thanks for being a friend
