SHE would like to know WHY, a dog who SWIMS.
AND walks through EVERY muddy puddle she can.....
Balks at stepping in a puddle that appears.
after heavy rain in the carport?!
This puddle--more of a damp patch--forms just next to the back car door. Bella refuses to step in it. She tiptoes around it, balancing on the garden hose. She needs to go through it either to get in the car, or go for a walk.
Nice one Bella, that's really messing wiv her mind!
ReplyDeleteOh …and er…mine, what's that all about Bella?
Loves and licky kisses

It is just not in the right place

For the same reason dogs hate a bath after swimming in the lake ;-)
ReplyDeleteWE may be Wrong.... as we often are, here on the hill.... BUTT we think it is due to what is UNDER the water.... if there is no good Squishy MUD under there... it would be just like stepping in a BAFF... WILLINGLY... You Gotta have the soft gooey MUSHY MUD under the water to make it RIGHT and SAFE to walk in...
ReplyDeleteMaybe she thinks the kittehs from across the street stopped by to pee in the carport? That's what we would think!
ReplyDeleteSam and Pippen
I'd be suspicious of a puddle that suddenly appeared where there isn't usually one, too!
ReplyDeleteWell I have to say I find the workings of human brains very hard to comprehend...
ReplyDeleteToodle pip!
Bertie.
Could it be the mo\tor oil that rises to the top of the puddle? It smells yucky and the visual rainbow effect isn't appealing on fresh water.
ReplyDeletewell the answer is easy - there is no mud in it :)
ReplyDeleteLooks like pee to me. I wouldn't walk in it either!!
ReplyDeleteMaybe it's cursed!
ReplyDeleteThe Mad Scots
Who likes to walk on wet dirty concrete???? Mud is so much more cozy and squishy!!!
ReplyDeleteWoos - Ciara and Lightning
It has to do with the attitude of the water.
ReplyDeleteYour Pals,
Murphy & Stanley
It must be the concrete. Our screened in back porch has a small poured concrete landing by the door. Both Scottie's would jump over it either in or out of the porch. They wore down the grass in front of it and a depression was forming which held muddy water when it rained. To cut down on the amount of mud tracked in the house, I filled it with brick pavers. Now they go around the pavers and through the plants to get on the porch...jumping in at an angle to prevent stepping on the concrete landing. Now, there is a similar landing off the garage which doesn't bother them, but it's painted. Scottie's......always entertaining.

BOL! Sounds like Bella is showing some good ole Scottie-tude!! Much love, The Scottie Mom.
ReplyDeleteI dunno, Finley will go swimming and wade through puddles but HATES wet grass.
ReplyDeleteHey! I swim, wallow, act like a hippo in the water and will NOT go outside when it's raining. I just don't like it, so there.
ReplyDelete-Otto
BOL it's a Scottie thing.
ReplyDeleteAroo to you,
Sully
Ugh. Hose water is gross
ReplyDeleteShe marches to the beat of her drum!! Not all puddles are the same. Maybe it doesn't smell right.
ReplyDeleteLoveys Sasha
mol mol mol WE AGREE WITH SASHA. BELLA LIKES THINGS TO BE HER IDEA...SHE DOESN'T WANT IT TO BE NECESSARY THAT SHE GET WET.
ReplyDeleteWTG BELLA
HUGS MADI YOUR BFFF
That's easy. That's a clean puddle - not a dirty one. Dirty is more fun!
ReplyDeleteLove ya lots♥

We dogs are an enigma that no human will ever solve ;)

Helloooooo, it's not muddy!
ReplyDeleteLily & Edward
LOL, She's a Scottie. What more is to be said on the subject.
ReplyDeleteBentley
Vaks don't like to step in the poodles, but I'm love to walk in the water. Laika.
ReplyDeleteHehehe, we don't know either. We hate walking on wet grass to pee but like to go in big muddy puddles. Go figure! Have a wonderful weekend mates. No worries, and love, Stella and Rory
ReplyDeleteP.S. We love your header photo.
Maybe it is not dirty or deep enough!
ReplyDeleteNow that is just silly.
ReplyDeleteThat is too funny! I love learning about little quirks that our blog friends have.
ReplyDeleteThe unfathomable canine H2O mystery.
ReplyDeleteBOL! That sounds like something Floyd would do!
ReplyDeleteOur Mom always asks why a Water Dog with the word in it's name, who can't walk by a drinking bowl without playing in the water, the same dog who pushes it's way into the shower with her and jumps off the boat half way across the lake, doesn't want to go outside if it's raining. It's one of those mysteries of life.
ReplyDeleteWe discussed it and we think we have the answer!!
ReplyDeleteBECAUSE!
Hope that helped.
