Rhinos

Many of you may remember that we have a Zoo VERY near us.
It's the breeding zoo associated with the Taronga Zoo in Sydney.

The Rhino breeding program is one of the most important.
 They are breeding successfully:

Black Rhino

White Rhino
And
Indian Rhino
One initiative last year to raise AWARENESS and FUNDS for the program, was to have rhino statues painted by schools, artists, towns......anyone who wanted to participate.

These rhinos are on display in Sydney, our  city Dubbo and towns in between.
These are just some of them.  We have about 10 just around us.
Upper left was designed by the kids at the school where SHE sometimes works.
SHE came up with the brilliant idea of having us pose
 beside  them.

NO WAY!
These things are creepy.
We made HER WORK to get even this photo.
So SHE had to just make a collage of some of them.
(We did get LOTS of treats.)

  2. I'm glad there are people who act as guardians for animals that have a rough time of it, especially those whose populations suffer because of stupid humans. You were both quite brave to pose there. I think perhaps you are frozen with fear.

  15. OH that is just great, we don't have rhino's around here but we know they are big cos mom told us. Those statutes are beautiful. We would be scared also, and our mom would be doing something unlawful like trying to put us on top of the rhino to get the picture....we know our momma.

  20. Why last year I had to stand by every pig here in Porkopolis aka Cincinnati. Now there were like ninety pigs in the city. Consider yourself lucky you get dignified rhinos. My neighbor works for the Cincinnati Zoo with our rhinos.
    Thanks for being a friend

  22. We had a similar thing here in Kansas City with cows. Now a lot of people have purchased them and have them on display in their gardens:) We are with you girls, not sure we would want to pose with them either.
