Friday...
and our hottest day of summer is almost over!
Translation: 22°C = 71.6°F; 26.3° = 78°F; and 43° =109.4°F
We started the day early--5:30 a.m walk. Bella ran away and got under the gate into the high school and chased feral cats.
It's a safe, no-traffic area at that time of morning, so Roxy and I continued our walk with HER.
When we got home, Bella was at our front gate barking to be let in.
We're sure the neighbours enjoyed that!
Then it was off to the river.
Hopefully, to become exhausted.
Daisy wallowing. |
Bella hoping someone would throw some rocks. |
Bella was in deep trouble and being ignored. She was nearly left at home, but knowing what the temperature would be later, was allowed to go.
SHE did NOT throw rocks for her....but another peep felt sorry for her, so Bella got to chase rocks after all.
Then it was home for baths...
and hibernation in the airconditioning.
Bella sleeping through a News Report on snow causing chaos in the US. |
We were lucky. Further west and north the temps were much higher. The highest today was 49.2° (120.56°F) not a record breaker, but still hot!
It is starting to cool now (7 p.m)...slowly... and will be much cooler for the next few days. We'll be able to get out on guard duty again.
That is unbelievably hot, hope you all find somewhere to stay cool - ever tried the fridge :)

What in the world! 49 degrees? That's like a desert!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear Bella's fine. And she got home on her own, too.
Howdy Hot Mates. Whew, that sure is hot. We'll try and send some of our rain to you. We had 20C with a little rain today and is was lovely. Keep cool. Has your mum given you any ice cream yet??? Ya better remind her ok. No worries, and love, Stella and Rory.
ReplyDeleteWe in Aberdeen cannot even imagine temperatures over 40ºC. Here it just rains and blows. Some proper snow and ice would be more fun (and require fewer baths).
ReplyDeleteToodle pip!
Bertie.
that's a really hot day... but the weather is getting weird all over the world. Over here its been raining off and on and we don't need the ac on for now... but come Feb... the days will be hot and hotter again.
ReplyDeleteGlad Bella got to go for a dip in the river too :) i m sure SHE was not too mad... it would also be nice if someone would make you girls some frosty paws ;D
Oh Bella!!! Glad she is safe...those pesky cats are to blame.
ReplyDeletePhew that is HOT, keep cool girls.
The weather is being so weird worldwide.
We live on the coast in the the UK and are worrying about the high tides just now!
Bella OMD that was some mischief. Glad you were OK. Stay cool pals. Have a fabulous Friday.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Molly
It is so strange for us that live in cold Citys , but stay cool :)
ReplyDeleteWe have the exact opposite situations. We're going to break records with our cold temps and you girls are sweltering. We are sending tons of cooling breezes your way!
ReplyDeleteLove ya lots♥
Mitch and Molly
That is hot and we know about that hot because it does get close to that hot here in the summer. Lady says we swing from -40 to +40 - it is crazy. Stay cool! Lee and Phod
ReplyDeleteAh...the wonderful Aussie summer. My sister lives in port Augusta ...south Australia....and it gets super hot there...but it is right on spencer gulf so plenty of swimming
ReplyDeleteOh, my goodness! That is HOT. We are at the complete other end of the spectrum. Monday is supposed to be -13 F (-25 C). Brrrrr.
ReplyDeleteMom wants to know...if we trade you some of our cold, snowy weather, can we have some of your super hot weather? Maybe it'll balance things out!
ReplyDeleteIt was -10 C when I got up this morning and very windy.....so we are both stuck with indoor days!
ReplyDeleteOMD OMD THAT is Sizzling HOT... have you tired to fry Milkbones on the sidewalk? Maybe that was what Bella was checking for when she went AWOL.
ReplyDeleteWE are having FREEZING Temps and Snow... I (Agent 0087E) went out to poop today... and my Feet FROZE... MOM had to run out and CARRY me back in... and wrap me in a Blankie... I admit it... I Screamed like a Squirrel beclaws it HURT. I HOPE that it cools down fur YOU...
We are hibernating indoors today for the opposite reason. It is 3 deg. F (-16 C) here today and we have 2 feet of snow on the ground. Oh yeah it's still snowing too. We wish we could send some of our cold your way.
ReplyDeleteWow! stay cool girls! We would be more than happy to send a little of our cold weather your way!

Right now, we're just perfect. Around 70-20 in the day and 45-7 at night. Your heat will pass (hopefully before you pass out).
ReplyDeleteSleep is good. Dat's what I'm doing today.
ReplyDeleteWags,
Ranger

ReplyDeleteHeehee, oh Bella, did you catch those cats? My goodness, 42 degrees!! Woah, glad you've got air conditioning, I wouldn't like to see two scottie blobs and a melted Roxy next time I'm here!
ReplyDeletePippa :)
Holy crap. You better stay in your watering hole
ReplyDeleteLily
Wow, I thought 90-95 was hot. You have that beat paws down.
ReplyDeleteStay cool,
Bentley
Daisy, Bella and Roxy...the term 'hot chicks'(which you 3 are by the way) takes on an entirely different meaning today. Today is one of the coldest on record in many parts of the US of A.
ReplyDeleteLots of kitty kisses
madi your bfff
How funny that we are at such extremes with temps. Very cold here and a little snow. Glad you all had fun even if SomePup (not Roxy) was a bit mischievous:)
ReplyDeleteWoos - Phantom, Ciara, and Lightning
Ohhh, how I long to go swimming with you guys, and maybe chase some rocks. Whew what a pile of puppers all snoozing the day away! Daisy, you snoring, your mouth is open! Barharhar
ReplyDeleteThe Mad Scots,
You poor puppers having to suffer through the heat. I'm glad Bella wasn't in too much trouble and got to go to the river. Stay cool my ladies.
ReplyDeleteAroo to you,
Sully
Wow, that is hot. I am glad that you have the water to cool off in. My dogs, even though they're labs, won't chase rocks in water after the first one :)
ReplyDeleteOMD!! That is HOT! Good thing you went swimming and you have air conditioning!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by to visit.

120 degrees? That is...um, I don't even know what that is! Is this normal summer weather for you?
ReplyDeleteYikes! That is almost as hot as Mars! Good thing you have the air conditioning or you would melt.
