Frying Friday....

Friday...
and our hottest day of summer is almost over!
Translation:  22°C = 71.6°F;  26.3° = 78°F; and 43° =109.4°F

We started the day early--5:30 a.m walk.  Bella ran away and got under the gate into the high school and chased  feral cats.
It's a safe, no-traffic area at that time of morning, so Roxy and I continued our walk with HER.
When we got home, Bella was at our front gate barking to be let in.
We're sure the neighbours enjoyed that!

Then it was off to the river.
Hopefully, to become exhausted.
Daisy wallowing.

Bella hoping someone would throw some rocks.
Bella was in deep trouble and being ignored.  She was nearly left at home, but knowing what the temperature would be later, was allowed to go.
SHE did NOT throw rocks for her....but another peep felt sorry for her, so Bella got to chase rocks after all.

Then it was home for baths...

and hibernation in the airconditioning.

Bella sleeping through a News Report on snow causing chaos in the US.

We were lucky.  Further west and north the temps were much higher.  The highest today was 49.2° (120.56°F) not a record breaker, but still hot!
It is starting to cool now (7 p.m)...slowly... and will be much cooler for the next few days. We'll be able to get out on guard duty again.

  4. We in Aberdeen cannot even imagine temperatures over 40ºC. Here it just rains and blows. Some proper snow and ice would be more fun (and require fewer baths).

  26. How funny that we are at such extremes with temps. Very cold here and a little snow. Glad you all had fun even if SomePup (not Roxy) was a bit mischievous:)

  29. Wow, that is hot. I am glad that you have the water to cool off in. My dogs, even though they're labs, won't chase rocks in water after the first one :)
