New Girl

There was a new girl at the river on Saturday morning.  Her name is Kelly.  Roxy, of course, followed her around, annoying her.  She's a kelpie--an Australian working dog.

Isn't she beautiful?
Kelpies work with sheep, cattle or goats.  But Kelly is a surburban kelpie.  She's a pet.
George and Tess (called Girlie) arrived.  Roxy annoyed George until her boyfriend, Jake finally arrived.  Roxy is like that song from 'Finian's Rainbow'--'When I'm not near the (dog) that I love, I love the (dog) that I'm near..'
We're missing three dogs here.  There are ten now in our social group.
It was a VERY warm day, so the river felt good.
Another great Saturday morning.

  10. I get a bit worried when I read about 'working dogs'. I worry that it might give Gail ideas. Thank goodness Kelly turned out to be a suburban lady of leisure.
