The Dubbo Show--

that we dogs were once again excluded from.
(The show is like a county fair, we think.)
This sheep was watching the judging.
One of the high schools bulls, shown by a student, being judged.
Agriculture is taught in high school.

A woodchopping event!
If your sound is on, you can hear the competetors being counted in, according to their handicaps.
The fellow on the far right--obscured--was last to start and first to finish!

Segment of sheep dog competition.

Shearing competition.
This competition was a team event.
Sheep shorn,
Fleece tidied up...getting the daggy bits off,
rolled in one piece, baled and the area cleaned up.

Of course there were also flower, chickens,  rabbits, birds, art, photographs, vegetable, fleece, baked goods, jams and craft competitions.
As well as rides, sideshow alley, businesses showing their wares,
show jumping, bands, magicians, puppet shows, baby farm animals....etc.
Always lots to see, we hear, as we NEVER get to go--
though we'd help clean up all the food stuff dropped.

  1. Just think of all the great smells you could have been sniffing!!! Did SHE at least bring home some goodies for you?

Woos - Lightning, Misty, and Timber

  2. We bet you would have a lot of fun at the fair. Too bad you can't go.

  3. OMD, that looks like it was funs!!! I would have loooooved to be that doggie jumpin' on the sheeps! BOL!!!
Oh, and Ma said she was taking pointers from the sheep shearers....☺
I agree, I hopes SHE brought you some chews or somethings!

  4. I think you should have been allowed to tidy up the place.

  5. So unfair that you don't get to go. I'm sure you'd all be a big success in the sheep herding competition...
Gail says she's never seen a woodchopping contest at a show in the UK.
    Toodle pip!

  6. Too bad ya didn't get to go - I bet there woulda been a lot to bark at!

  7. Country fairs are so much fun! We loved watching the dog race across the tops of the sheep's backs☺ We doggies would have a blast at the fair but the peeps in charge are no fun and won't allow us to enter here either.

  8. I don't know why you can't go, I saw a dog running on top of the sheep in one video... tell that to your mom. my hubby would love that chopping competition... I am in love with that bull. I have a passion for cows and thise guy is soooo handsome.

  9. Oh my goodness - that wood chopping competitions looks like such hard work! I wonder how many spines are damaged in it?

That looks like such a fun outing! Perfect for a fall day!

  10. we love such events!!! the mama once won with a duck... a small barrel of beer, they gave it to her anyway although she was 8 or so but her grampy seized it ;O(

  11. Wow, looks a great show to see BUTT I can't understand why they allow sheep to go and not dogs!?!?
    Loves and lucky kisses
