Tasty Tuesday (and other stuff)

This morning I looked for MY cockie, but it wasn't there.....

SHE thinks this is the bird.  It was way down by the river.
But, really, who can tell one cockatoo from another?
Dui was NOT shown the bird.

Later in the day, SHE went to a friend's who was trimming LAMB chops for dinner, and we got the off-cuts and a couple of whole chops deemed not good-looking enough for the guests.
SHE stewed them up with carrots and rice.

We had a very tasty dinner--and there's some for tomorrow,
 as well.
 Later..............
SHE found these ads on the computer.....

And our favourite....Roxy is one of these....

Don't know whether to laugh or cry...

  1. Your lamb dinner looks delish. I have never had lamb. The ads are funny. Don't they have spell-check down-under, or dictionaries for the meaning of purebred? We like "stuffy purebred."

I've got an English Stuffy, he was white when I got him but he's now rather brown and chewed.......oh Mum says they didn't mean that sort of stuffie!

  3. one one hand I feel sorry for that pups and I hope for a happy end.... but I laughed as I read that ads. We have such a smarty-pants in our hood too. She planned to breed chihuahua's because she thought that's an unknown breed in our area... yes... because she thought it means tschiwahwah :o(

  4. no sure which is sadder - that people don't care to check their spelling or that they can't spell.

  5. Oh my goodness....me...folks don't understand pets are FOREVER not just for right now. You know my daughter recently adopted to Shelter cats..both are adorable.
Mia the tortie is estimated to be over a year old. The Cat rescue called my daughter a few days after she adopted Mia to see how things were going with the introductions. My daughter said Mia is the most loving and accepting cat they are doing really well together. Daughter said I cannot believe someone gave her up.
The rescue lady said you would not believe what we see at shelters. She told her just the week before she had been at the shelter checking out some cats to rescue. A woman came in with her 8 year old daughter and 6 year old German Shepherd. She said she was turning in the GS because she wanted a puppy..instead. The rescue lady said the child was crying and sobbing. The woman left the GS.
It is just heartbreaking that some humans view pets as disposable.

  6. You can never put too much pork in your mouth as far as I'm concerned.
Now why is Her looking at dogs in need of homes. Is Her thinking about adding to the family.
    Thanks for being a friend

  8. OMD Dui, surely the lamb, rice and carrots made up for not getting to catch the cockatoo.

    Aroo to you,

  11. Very yummy looking dinner - lucky pups!
The ads make us cringe. We've seen similar here too. Along with "pure bread" and "blue healer mix". Grrr.....

  12. Lady says it is so sad to see dogs so easily rehomed. She does understand for a few people, they may really be facing circumstances beyond their control, but most are just lazy. Lady says we would live in a cardboard box before she gave us up.

Your stew looks excellent. Lamb is a favourite of Lady's.

  13. I rather like the idea of an English stuffy.
But not as much as the idea of a lamb chop supper…

  14. Oh some of the ads I see around here leave me scratching my head. I can't even figure out what some of them are trying to say. So much for the English language.

  19. Wow that supper looked really good! I think maybe people that can't spell shouldn't have pets cause they don't keep them.

    Ziggy Out!!
